Hi everyone
I'm trying to convince my wife to spend a week in tenerife over the new year period [28/12 +] so i would like some advice on what it is like over there at that period. We will probably stay in santa maria aparthotel in costa adeje. Are all the restauarants on the sea front open? is new years eve lively and party atmosphere? we are in our 40's so we are not looking for the drunken lager lout type of lively! We've never been abroad over xmas or new year to know what it is like.
Thanks for any help.
everything is open.
You could not choose a better place than Tenerife for New Year. We used to come here every year for Christmas and New Year prior to moving here and the atmosphere is brilliant, as Hairyhamster says 'everyone parties' no matter how young or old they are.
Hope you can convince your wife, you don't know what you will be missing
We've been for a couple of Christmas/New Years to Tenerife and had a brilliant time. Very few youngsters - it tended to be older couples and young families. Party hats and streamers in the bar/restaurants, fireworks galore at midnight.
Thanks for the replies folks. All i have to do now is to convince my wife! We've been to tenerife many times in the summer and it is a brilliant place, i bet its just as ace at christmas/new year.
REDPOOL its brill at new year we used to go all the time until our daughter was born so not been for a while if you cant convince your wife you can take me
hi all i can say its brill brill brill we go every year now for a month in feb staying in loscristanos we have been twice for xmas and newyear and its great fireworks are every where you ll have a bril time
Have you convinced your wife to go to Tenerife for NYE yet? I'm trying to convince my husband to go there over NYE and if we go, we should all meet up for a drink
It's brilliant! I am also a 40 something and had a great time. I have been about 5 times now over New Year and can highly recommend it. Its warm and everything is open. The only thing I did notice is that the you have to wait a lot longer for a taxi - normally there's loads sitting at the taxi rank all times of the day and night but there was a definate shortage the week I was there. However on the plus side the restaurants all seemed quieter for some reason, but not so in the bars, lively and good fun!!
It's mad!!!!!
hi everyone, been reading all your comments about 'rife at new year and its convinced me to go this year. did anyone go in 2009? how busy is it compared to summer? x
