Hi,
Visiting USA soon. Checked various sites seeking confirmation either way whether I can buy PS3 games that are compatible with a UK PS3 game console. Various techie sites make it unclear. Hoping for somebody on this message board that has actually tried it by making a purchase in the USA returned to the UK and the item either played or did not?
Some sites seem to say that if you have a HDMI connection on your TV then they will all work!!
Anybody out there tried this? Did they play or not?
many thanks!!
i think the PS3 is region free so will work, sure some internet sites will tell you,but i have found when ive been over there ive brought pc games they were not that cheaper to be honest....
System / US MSRP / UK MSRP ($ equivalent)
PS3 40GB / $400 / $600
Wii / $250 / $400
Xbox 360 Arcade / $280 / $320
Xbox 360 Elite / $450 / $520
The games themselves...well, they are cheaper in the US but not always by much. Most Xbox 360 and PS3 games are $60 (30 Pounds, sorry no pound key on my keyboard!) when first released. But the consoles are usually MUCH cheaper as you can see above. Also, games are often released in the US a long time before the UK (not always but often).
