Yes, all drinks are free on Emirates - no problems at all. And yes plenty of movies and games. You can stop and start them as you wish.
I'm sure you will enjoy Emirates. We always choose them if at all possible.

I have just returned from Perth with emirates, and yes all drinks and snacks are complimentary, however, I found that unlike Singapore Airlines, you do have to ring or stop a member of the cabin crew and ask for a drink. The crew on Singapore are constantly throughout the flight, walking round asking if you need anything. I found with emirates, that unless you called someone, there was a good few hours where they never came near.So just make sure you buzz them and ask for what you want.
The food was lovely though, and plenty of it if you require it. And I also have to say that we had the smoothest of landings on all 4 flights with emirates.
Enjoy your holiday
Debbi.
I have just returned from Perth, having booked my flight online. so having an e-ticket. I was told to take the booking reference along with me when I checked in,but they never asked for it. It's all computerised, even the visa. I found that joining skywards and pre booking my seat was great, as was the online check in, as the queue for normal check in was almost out the door, and I just breezed in just 90 minutes before take off, and went straight through.
Have a great time, I wish I was going back in june, I love Perth.
debbi.
I have joined skywards so do i just check in 24hrs before to avoid the queues and pre book my seats?
Thank you very much! That's very reassuring
Hi new here, so hope I have posted in the right place! I am flying Heathrow to Dubai then to Johannesburg both Emirates flights....does anybody know what happens to my luggage at Dubai? I have 1 hour 30mins between flights...would love to get a coffee, but this is the first time I have flown on my own, so unsure of what to do!(Check in, security checks etc)
If you're flying Emirates, or one of their partners on both legs, then you'll be checked straight through. Your bags will be forwarded on to the next flight automaticlly. You won't need to collect them. When you get to Dubia, all you need to do is make your way to the departure louge by following the transit sign. It'll all make sense when you get there.

Thanks Darren, you have really put my mind at ease....very nervous, but excited as well! Was surprised to get an answer so quickly.
You will need to be alert at Dhubi doing the transfer. Depending where your aircraft arrives it may be a long bus ride to the terminal as they are building another terminal there. Transit can be a nightmare it took me an hour to get through the queue last time I did it in January and then I had to push my way through as it was getting close to my next departure time. The terminal at Dhubi is just one long one and depending where your next filght leaves from it can be quite a long distance. I know other will say that you have a confirmed through booking so you should be Ok but dont count on it be alert and dont waste any time getting through transist.
I've transited through four times recently and it can be a real pain, once we parked at the terminal, and just walked in to security, there it took ages to get through, all shoes off, then belts as well, the other three times we were parked on remote stands, and had a 10-15 min. bus trip in, but at least the security on these occasions was much quicker, no shoes off, no belts removed, so it's a lottery what it will be like. Yes its a long hike to some gates, if your gate is in the 40s, it can take you 15-20 min to hike it, especially if the terminals busy, I've never seen it quiet actually, is it ever? Alan
Thanks for all the helpful advice...the minute my plane lands I will rush to find out where I go next! At least I now know I don't have to worry about my luggage.Sorry to sound so stupid....I was little (and with friend's parents) the last time I flew.

The Dubai-based carrier, the largest customer for the superjumbo, will receive the first of a $18.8 billion order for 58 aircraft on July 28.
Emirates plans to deploy its first A380 aircraft on routes from Dubai to New York, Heathrow and Sydney-Auckland.
Details of its first commercial A380 service will be announced shortly, according to the airline.
Emirates' A380 interiors and onboard service will be revealed for the first time during the delivery ceremony in July.
Emirates will receive five A380s between July and the end of March 2009, all featuring an ultra long-haul configuration of 489 seats: 14 in first flass, 76 in business and 399 in economy.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline & Group said: "The A380, with its large capacity and excellent operating economics, will be one of the pillars of Emirates' future growth.
"We've been working very closely with Airbus since the A380 programme's inception back in 2000, and all through the ups and downs from the drawing board to production, we have remained unshakable in our belief that this is the aircraft for the next chapter of aviation."
Sheikh Ahmed added: "Despite the high oil prices, for us, demand remains strong and the A380's combination of range, capacity and fuel efficiency will help Emirates to continue achieving our growth targets."

I've got e-tickets but not got a ticket number.
The flight leaves at 14:05 from Manchester, arrives in Dubai at 00.05 then leaves Dubai at 02:35am arriving in Perth for 17.25
There is no flight number available! Would I be able to find this out?
MAN - DXB is EK018, DXB - PER is EK420
PER - DXB is EK421, DXB - MAN is EK017 (assuming reciprocal flights)
MAN-DXB is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. DXB-PER is operated by an Boeing 777-200.

Thank you once again my hero!
We are flying to KL via Dubai in August from Manchester. Would you know which terminal Emirates fly from at Manchester?
Thanks in advance
prada,
Wow that was quick, thanks Darren
I have another question. On our return journey we have to hang around in the middle of the night for 3 hours - just wondering whether its worth booking the executive lounge, what do you think?
