Hi Phil,

Welcome to the board.

I'm not a resort person, so will leave recommendations to those who are - you have probably settled on the season's peak period (1st - 3rd weeks of August) when most of the resort hotels charge their highest rates.

Hi Phil and welcome to holidaytruths

I don't know if that's a good price or not, but I can be certain of one thing, you will not be disappointed with Sunny Beach. There's plenty of things going on day and night and it's a really lively resort. I definitely wouldn't go all inclusive, not just because of the fact that eating out is so cheap, but it's just nice to try different restaurants. Choose a hotel in the centre of the resort or book flights and accommodation separately as this might work out cheaper. Good luck! :tup

Hi just looked at the Balkan Holiday website and they are offering B&B from £314 - £507 flying form Glasgow on 3rd August. I have booked with Balkan before and found no problems with them, but avoid the meal on the plane! I am going back again this year in August for the 5th year in a row, but i am going with Direct Holidays as i got a very good deal with them when i booked it back in September last year! Hope you find something suitable as Bulgaria is an amazing country to go to! Lots of sun, sand and cheap beer! :sun2 :cheers :rofl

Hi,
Thanx for all your advice and help. It looks like we are considering staying at the Bayview Villas just up from Sunny Beach. It looks like its on a hill around 4km from the main centre which means it should be relatively quiet for during the day and we can travel into town at night. Has anyone stayed there before and can you give me your opinion of the place.

Many Thanx
Phil

Hi Phil,

I can find a lot on this property other than its privately owned. Are you booking with a particular company or doing this yourself via the web?

Well I can book either through Thomson's pr on my own, but I think it would make me feel safer if I booked through Thomsons. I struggled to find reviews aswell and it is new to thomsons this year. The pictures of the place look lovely, so just wanted to hear other peoples views.

Thanx
Phil

As this is your first visit to Bulgaria I would definitely advise you to go with the Thomsons option.

Hi Phil. If you google bayview villas bulgaria, there is a web Imoti bugarian Properties- 100% irish. This is the only one that has some info that might be of any use to you, the others were all naff (well i thought so ) :) i think by the sound of it, that it's very new. With still other phases to be done. Might be like a building site :( Have a look though you might think it'll be ok. I have booked through Thomson staying at the Chrisentema hotel all incl, as this is mine and the kids first holiday abroad, didn't want any dramas that i'd forgotten something. Just my luck :rofl

Hi Phil, i know the owners of Bay View villas are having issues with the developers at the moment, and phases of the project are as mentioned earlier are still being built, may be worth giving it a wide birth until the building is complete and issues are resolved. Paul.
