Hi- going to the bahia principe in playa paraiso in may and i have read there isnt much about. We wanted to go to some duty free shops, is there anything in paraiso or is it better to go to Las Amercias in a taxi and how much roughly is it?

I expect you can buy all those items where you are going. They are all over the place.
Perhaps there is more competition in Las Americas. A local bus will take about 35 minutes to get you there. Use a BONO bus ticket if you intend to use local buses.
A taxi might take 15 minutes-travelling direct-perhaps 15€-not sure.

we stayed in the Bahia and they have their own bus that goes three or four times a day to the centre. It drops you off beside Benetton and that is where you get it on the return.
