I was under the impression the allowance was stipulated by the airline, rather than the tour operator but the usual First Choice allowance is 20Kg so you should be fine to pool the 100Kg allowance into 3 bags but please note First Choice won't take any single bag weighing over 23Kg. This is their maximum allowance per case, even for premium long haul flights.

LizzyjoB,

Refer to the Thomsonfly thread. Your baggage allowance will be confirmed when you get your tickets. As you are flying with Thomsonfly, their baggage policy will apply. FCA/TOM's policy gives you the same amount anyway but there are slight differences with the maximum permissible weight of a single case. Your allocation is 25kg per person (including hand luggage of up to 10kg). Check-in at the Thomsonfly desks. Click here for more info. You should be able to pool your luggage up to the maximum allowed by Thomsonfly (as they are the airline in this case).

Thanks Dazbo

It says one item maximine weight is 32kg with Thomson and only 23kg with FC which is alot of difference. But I would have thought that it would be down to airline to restrict weight of each item and not tour operator.

I've emailed FC to check this as in past my 2 largest cases have weighed approx 25kg.
Don't want to get there and have to start taking things out. ;)

Sorry, my mistake. Your allowance will be indicated by what's stated on your tickets.

not just the airline but EEC Health and safety regulations..... still not fully adopted the max weight for ANY manually handled item is 23KG .. they may be able to hold out for a while but eventually it Will have to be introduced, anything heaver will then have to travel as freight
