I`ve been to both Torremolinos and Benidorm several times. I love both resorts. If your looking for the acts, I don`t think you will get anywhere as good as Benidrom for the variety and amount of bars offering entertainment and acts. Sorry to be blunt, my advice would be to stick with Benidorm for your main holiday and try Toremolinos for a short break to see if it`s what your looking for.If you found Palma Nova a dissapointment for entertainment, it would be a shame if you visited Torremolinos and thought the same.

If the entertainment is not top of your list then I think you would love Torremolinos, I`ve not stayed in the Summer but at easter it has a wide age range of visitors. Plenty of bars to keep you occupied and plenty of shops. There`s plenty of places to visit if your not just into sun bathing.

If your still intrested in Torremolinos, give us an idea of things you like to do whilst away and I`m sure you will get lots of advice.

thanks for the reply.
i was just trying to get a rough idea of the place to be honest.i do a few short breaks in beni a year and i think its been unainomously decided that well give torremolinos a go next summer,so if any regular visitors could give me a few decent self catering apartments not full of the 18-30 brigade id be thankful :)
we usually do last two weeks in august,or last week in august first week in september if this helps.cheers.

i keep going to maglauf/palma nova and beni because theres just nowhere else ive found with the same nightlife centred around bars. I found torremelinos one of the most boring places of all. Yes endless restaurants but very bars and even less with entertainment. Thats Torre proper but of course going towards the marina and 24 hour square it gets livelier.

It is up to the individual, but Torri/Benal is wonderful for all ages. There are plenty of bars along the beach in torri, also in the town, plus discos.i prefer Benal ,Marina area myself, also up in Bonanza sq.
As for apartments, look on here or visit holidaylettings.co.uk for private rentals for all areas.

Hotel Bali has some apartments and you can use the facillities of the hotel. Stayed in the hotel which was excellent, mixed age groups. Bali is only a short walk to Bonanza square. Torremolinos is 15/20 walk to the centre.Bali is 5 mins to the beach. Plenty of bars in this area and 5/10 mins to 24 hour square.

Benalmadena and Torremolinos run into each other. There is a promande that runs the full length of both of these. The Marina is in Benalmadena and a 5 min walk past this takes you to La carihella (fishing area) this is where the nice fish restraunts are. This area is classed as Torremolinos and is a very nice area, If you fancy a simple bb I can recccomend El Tiburon. Torremolinos town is a further 10/15 walk away. Buses run along the main road on a regular basis so getting between the two resorts is very accessable. There is a train that runs into both and onto Malaga one way and Fuengirola the other way. Whilst the stop in Benalmadena is up in Arryo (another part of Benalmadena), this is still a nice area to visit, it is abundant with shops, bars and restaraunts. The towns of both resorts are up hill and the beach/promande are at sea level. (silly to say but puts you in the picture).
