Ok
My partner and I fly out on the 13th April .....It is our first time and we love live bands / music etc
We also love great night life and great food
What venues and places are the best
"Prem Joshua" if they are still gigging when you are out there, oh and try and pick up there album "Shiva Moon" jxk8..........
Ahhhh.... Just decided to listen to 'Darbari NYC' (track1) right now... this one track ALWAYS reminds me of Goa. Pure bliss! The voices... pure chill!
Sorry no Prem Joshua, his last concert in Goa this season was March 2nd . The Hilltop Vagator is known for gigs and Lounge Fly Baga. For information try here
Just to let you know .... I was the drummer for Banco De Gaia ....So live music is a must for me.
Panjim is your best bet. Last year I missed Zakkir Hussein and Jean Luc Ponty.
You will get some music at Ingo market and Mackies (will they still be on?). saw a good Sitar/Tabla dup there last year.
I know there is a small arts centre in Calangute that puts on Indian Classical now and then (Flute/Sitar/Tabla).
If you are buying CDs dont bother with the cheap pirates, there's a great CD shop in Panjim (Sinaris) bought loads of Indian Classical and Electronica, the real Cds for £3.50 each. Some of which you cant get here... Zakkir Hussein Cds that cost £15 + here!
PS I really like Ban De G' nice stuff. Nicely chilled.
They have various singers and groups, and they are usually very good, the place is jumping by 8.30 pm.
Don't bother with the food - it's crap. Eat elsewhere before you arrive.
