I can't wait to go now - my son is going to think he's in heaven when he starts asking for drinks and snacks. The only downside will be when he's climbing the walls through too much coke and fizzy drinks.
We are on our own for the first time this year after 28 years of holidays- child worries will now relate to what they are doing at home while we are away
If people do plenty of research re the food etc.. it would be suprising to be caught out.
Have to comment on missmaxxx post re Golden Parnassus, hers is one of the very few poor reviews of this hotel. I've done extensive research and nearly eveyone says what a great place it is. Well I'm going in two weeks I hope I'm right.
I'll let you know..........
another really bad all inclusive we have stayed in is the pink palace in hisaronu turkey, the food was dreadful, very limited choices and quite often stale bread for breakfast, dessert was mainly melon covered in flies, all food was left uncovered and outside so it was covered in flies and birds eating it, it was so bad we only ate there about 2-3 times and had to eat out the rest of the time, drinks were very limited and there was no entertainment. rooms were tiny and musty, we didnt even get a bed the first night for our nearly 5 yr old daughter, when i asked were her bed was when we arrived in the middle of the night i was told she had a free child place so she can share with you, eventually after arguing they gave us a cot which was way too small for her. the next day i had to call the rep in as the manager was refusing to provide us with a bed for her. the hotel is diabolical but location not too bad , olu deniz is gorgeous shame about this hotel. we booked with horizon travel who were totally useless and when i got back and rang them about our problems he said he didnt believe me !!! so avoid horizon travel too
dar khayam in tunisia, awful food, watered down beer and spirits that all taste the same, staff with an eye for the young girls.its very cheap but the above is why.pay a bit extra and go somwhere with a bit of class.
Of course we miss the going out and eating what you want, cooked how you want it everyday. However I feel that I eat less and drink less than what I do when were at home when AI. At the moment (kids ages 8 and 9), we feel the children have a safe enough environment in which they tend to make friends. So I do miss my self catering, but looking at the prices there is not much difference to upgrading to AI. So we do as to help us save money. I hear so many people moaning because they have to eat out when the menu does not suit them, they are disgusted having to put their hands in their pockets.
Anyway back to the topic. My feelings on AI are you do get what you pay for. The hotels have to cater for different Nationalities (not individuals). Ive always struggled with the food when away, but I expect it when I travel abroad.
i 100% agree with trasjohno we have also unfortunately stayed in dar khayam in hammamet tunisia and its in the top 3 of my worst holidays, food uncooked, chicken with blood in the middle, cockroaches in the hotel, dreadful place, went to a ros and she got us a good per cent of our money refunded another 1 to avoid
Isla Bonita tenerife, old dirty and expensive 2* not 4*
IM glad to see Yasmine Hammemet, Yamine beach isnt in this list of worst in inclusives. we are going in July A1 and have paid 3.800 for 2 adults and 3 kids. I really hope it is worth it x
