We are looking to book a family holiday (big group) to the Greek islands or Cyprus for a 50th birthday. We fly from Newcastle so usually book flight only on charter flights eg Thomsons, Thomas cook etc. We would like to be at our destination by 1st May 2009(Friday), does anyone know if the summer flights will have commenced by then eg start 30/4 or 1/05 or if we will have to look at the winter schedule.

Most charter flights to Greece start in May a few start in April (First Choice). They usualy go on sale at they begining of May for the summer after, not all charter operators release their flight only at first they sometimes wait until after christmas. I think they wait to see if they can sell packages first.
Cyprus is availble on both winter and summer charter flights. Also a few low cost airlines are flying to Cyprus and Athens.
Ps you can only uaually book 9 seats at once on a system, you may have to ring them once you have found, what your looking for.
