Hi, can anyone help me resolve a 'refund' issue with Travelodge. I made a 2 day booking with them in February via the internet as my husband had to have an operation in Exeter Hospital which neccessitated an overnight stay. The hospital then cancelled the
February admission and gave a date in March. I went back on the Internet to change the dates but was informed that the dates
required were not available. I therefore had no option but to cancel the booking. I then phoned Travelodge to see what I had to
do to get a refund - I was asked what dates I reqd and was told - 'yes the dates were available' when I asked why the dates
were not available via the internet I was told they worked independently! We had to stay near the hospital so I went ahead and
booked over the phone and also asked if the amount I had paid could be transferred to the new booking but was informed that
this was not possible and to phone another number and get a claim form. This I did and to date the issue has still not been resolved so I have paid for 4 nights instead of the two actually taken. We are both pensioners and do not need all this hassle to get back
money overpaid. I have filled in claim forms, sent numerous letters, with copies of the Hospital appointments etc also copies of the bookings made!! all to no avail so far, if anyone out there can help in any way I would be most grateful.
Sorry to hear about your predicament and the last thing you need as your husband is about to have an operation.
When you booked the original booking was it one of the saver/supersaver rooms? If so I think their terms and conditions state that it is cancellable, but not refundable. In fact it does, I have a booking for this month at Heathrow and just checked the terms and conditions. You can view them http://www.travelodge.co.uk/terms/
The other thing to consider is do you have any travel insurance that will cover you in the UK?
Hope you get this sorted out.
Good luck
Unfortunately as the others have said, if this was a Saver or Sale booking then the T&C's clearly state that no refund will be given for cancellations.
However if you booked a full price or Flexible rate then you are entitled to a refund.
Can you confirm which type of booking it was?
