We're off to SA - CT for a few days.
If anyone has any good suggestions for a 4* hotel for around £150 or cheaper in a great area of Cape Town? Don't know the area well so suggestions for where to stay and things to do in 3 days would be great.
Thanks,
Anthony Osude
you also might like to consider staying at a small luxury guesthouse.I stayed in one several years ago when in Cape Town and found it cheaper than staying at a top end 4 star, was safe and had a large comfortable room. Also the owner was friendly & helpful ,full of suggestions .....much more personal than at a staying at a four star hotel although a 4 star does have better facilities.
I would say the best areas to stay in Cape Town are Camps Bay & Clifton for the beach and lots of restaurants, V&A Waterfront area is good for shopping and restaurants. The hotels can be pricey in these areas but all are lovely and as the previous poster said the guest houses / self catering are pretty luxurious but for a cheaper price.
If you want to have a good view of Table Mountain the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands is a gorgeous hotel with nice restaurants and a short taxi ride from Table Mountain & V&A waterfront, there is a shopping centre in close walking distance from the hotel.
We stayed in Cape Town over Christmas and stayed at The Cullian Lovely hotel walking distance to V & E waterfront in day and they had courtesy bus which we used in the evening. We booked direct on the Southern Sun website I think we paid about £ 75.00 a night including breakfast The breakfast was wonderful; loads of fresh fruit eggs cooked to order. I personally could not fault the staff or the hotel.
I would suggest typing the review in Word and saving it before trying to upload it as we are have intermittent problems with our Review Site at the moment.
