Depends what you want really - Lara beach is lovely, but there is no resort centre and very little to do outside the hotels, unless you go on trips. Having said that, the hotels are all excellent 5* luxury, on a lovely sandy strip of beach, and near to the airport (around 15 mins transfer time). Side on the other hand is a lovely town with loads of shops,restaurants and bars. 2 beaches, a lovely harbour with boat trips and lots of history. Much more to do in Side, but it is further away from the airport, at least 1hr transfer time. Denny

We stayed at the Turquiose Hotel in Side end of last Sept. Meals very good. Buffet style. There are 3 pools one large where games are played, one with slides and a smaller adults only pool. There are loungers everywhere and we didn't need to reserve either. The beach is sandy in parts and there are piers with loungers on too. The room was fine, we were at the rear facing the woods which we were glad of in the end as the front facing the beach could be quite noisy at night and lots of smoke too going up to your rooms as the outside entertainment took place there. There is also a ampitheatre for other shows. The hotel is mainly geared towards germans and russians. We didn't find many Brits in the whole week. But the Germans we came across where friendly and not pushy. A good location too. We used the dolmus to get into Side a couple of mile away and to go to Manavgat. Beware the waterfalls get turned off! only on when the coaches descend between 12 and 2! All in all a good hotel, would recommend!
