flat hard sand you can walk into Side along the beach, there are rocks and pebbles, but clear in most areas, and quite shallow for a few metres. :sun2

Thanks Perfume, that was kind of how I imagined it from the pictures.

Side has one of the best beaches I've come across. Most of the hotels are on one beach but there is a more "Turkish" beach which is on the other side of the peninsula and is worth a walk. The locals use that more although it is a bit more rocky there.

The main beach is mile after mile of good sand (marred only by the occasional brown, wrinkly German in a thong).

The beaches are Side are lovely and sandy with nice shallow waters. Don't know if each hotel has their own stretch as its some years since I've been there but we used to walk about a mile along the water line into town for lunch and then back again. Would definately recommend Side if you are after lovely pale sand.

Hi Chris I have been looking for an offer to Side for May and although the Hemera is available for £600 for 2 weeks with Direct Holidays our friends who want to come with us dont want to pay that much as they have already been away twice this year.Where did you see your offer?.I am also very wary when I see hotels in Side advertised because most are not in Side but in surrounding towns. Thanks Jay.

Hi Jean

Ive sent you a pm so that I dont bore everyone to tears on this one, and take it off topic from beaches.

Hi doe,
We stayed at the Turquiose Hotel a couple of miles out of Side. The beach was sandy for a small section and shingly either side. Was gently sloping too. Spoke to a German who told me the best beaches in Side were around the Hemera and Sunrise Queen Hotels on the other side of Side, all sand no shingle.
