You have a fair amount of choice. There are glass bottomed boats (not a good choice as you wont see much), the Dolphin submarine (surface submarine) that goes from the beach 1.5hrs, various small boats that hold between 20 - 50 people that you can get from along the coast between Protaras and Pernera, some have full and half days and they only go as far as cape Greko. The catamaran does half day, full day and sunset cruises but is quite pricey. The best is the Raptor boat Safari, which is a fast 3 hr ride and goes all the way round to Ayia Napa and back and includes seeing Famagusta Ghost town, Pirates caves and swiming, snorkeling and feeding the fish and they include drinks, snacks and transfers in the cost.
Woah, the raptor sound good, is it suitable for children ie aged 9.
Yes it's fine, I was on it again on Wednesday and we saw dolphins!!! probably 40 - 50 of them, I have some amazing video footage!
We saw some in tenerife about 13 years ago and would love the bairn to experience what it's like seeing them wild.
if you are down by the mcdonalds end of the strip i would definatly recommend Panikos Boat Trip, great trip, last about 3 hours but all the staff are great, they hand out free greek food, free drinks free sweets and you can borrow some bonoculers and you can jump of the boat from bottom or top deck at all ages and have a swim around for 10 mins or so .. normally leaves the beach at around 11 and arrives back at 2ish, last year i was in Cyprus for 2 weeks and went on it 4 times !
