It's a long time since I've been to Es Cana but I remember it was a really good resort for families with young children. Click Here to read our resort reports for Es Cana.
your kids will love it there,we took our kids at similar ages and went for 2 years in a row, would go back now but it can be expensive for us 6,just up the road is a mini fair and bouncy castle thing that will kep them occupied for a bit, underneath the apartments is the marvent restaurant/cafe bar and at the back there is air hockey, pool etc.to be honest by the time you have been on the beach, swam in the pool of the appartments, went up to the fair, had tea you will be shattered(well the kids will be)and if they crash out you can always sit on the balcony at the apartment with the best view of all thats going on.you can people watch, have some beers etc out of your own fridge in the apartment and drift off to the sound of the waves.i should be on commision we just have so many happy memories of the place.also all the beach bars are open at night,so you could have a drink at one,and they all have slides etc outside.just up the road is the apache bar,and they have b ouncy castles etc.i think you will find it a chilled out holiday where you can do your own thing at your own pace,i sometimes find rushing to get kids to kids clubs or mini disco to restricting, but theres nothing stopping you going to one of the hotels(except for panorama marina)to watch there entertainment as long as you buy a drink.ooooohhhhhh just remembered something else, the hostal m a ry huerta next door to the es cane apartments has a bigger pool and a bit of a park swings, slide etc,and they advertise on there website that they welcome none residents to use the pool(as long as you buy a drink.hope this helps. mo.
That sounds great, you have put my mind at rest. I have never been bothered to much about kids clubs as I like to spend time with my children on Holiday, but was worried they would get bit fed up in the evening. I here the glass bottom boat trips are good. Any advice on surrounding resorts. My parents are coming out for the first week and my Dad likes to see the sights. Getting excited now, 5 weeks and counting.
hi bambi32 we have done the glass bottom boat trip once, and to be honest i wouldnt do it again, theres not much to see and it made me gippy,if you do it though, keep a tight hold on the kids,my eldest 14 was watching my youngest age 3 at the time and he got distracted (i think you can relax a bit on holiday and dont always see the danger)i was next to them and the next thing i knew he was leaning out of a window with no glass in,my fault entirely and its never happend since but it frightened me i can tell you.on the road across from the apartments is a mini train that takes you on various trips to beaches etc the kids will love that.its very easy to get the bus to santa eulalia and the grandparents will enjoy it there as well,if you fancy a walk around the promanade in santa eulalia there is a beach bar called mariners, they have entertainment on most nights from flamenco to live music,it would suit all ages.the marina in santa eulalia is stunning young and old will enjoy looking at the millionaire yachts, there are loads of excellent restaurants in santa eulalia around the marina, within the town and on restaurant street(thats up near the town hall.the boats are an excellent way to get around also, from es cana you can get to santa eulalia, cala longa, ibiza town.you can buy tickets from las arenas bakery or on the boat.you will change at santa eulalia for towns futhur afield, but they are good at telling you.remember though that the tickets are return so save them for the way back. if you can get grandparents to babysit one night,i can recommend bar liquido n the marina in santa eulalia, wonderful cocktails and no kids allowed(its nice sometimes to have an adult night out)dont worry children are welcome in 99.9%of bars and restaurants in ibiza .dont forget the hippy market on wednesdays in escana,i would suggest you go early then spend the rest of the day by the pool because the hoards decend into escana from the other resorts and it gets busy everywhere.there is a trip to the waterpark, but there wont be a lot the little ones can go on as there are height restrictions on the bigger slides but many people enjoy it. have a good time. mo.
Cheers Mo, thanks for all the great advice. You should be a travel agent/tour guide, if not already. My children don't live near to grandparents and dont see them that often so will try and take advantage one night and pop in to Santa Eulalia with hubby (if hes paying). Oh just one more question (sorry ) if that ok. Is eating out expensive or does it depend where you go, on holiday so no gonna worry too much just wondered how much to take for food.
hi bambi32,no im not a travel agent im a nurse i must admit im a bit of an anorak when it comes to holidays especially ibiza,i cant go or read enough about it,i get off the plane and think " im home".anyway back to the question,i would say that es cana is fairly cheap compared to the uk,but with the euro exchange rate being so bad i think we will see a difference this year.the marvent is definatly good value the kids meals are of a good size and you can eat quite cheaply there.its definatly a bit more expensive in santa eulalia, but then the place is more upmarket.i think whatever happens with the euro it wont be as expensive as in the uk.but the days of it being really cheap abroad have long gone .there is a lovely bakery below the apartments, and we used to get baguettes etc and have them by the pool or on the beach for lunch,i dont cook on holiday except toast maybe at a push, cereals for the kids etc.its had to know how much to take depending on what you plan to do,the cashpoints are easy to use and there is one again below your apartments.feel free to ask anymore questions mo
