LOL. The other week I bought a load of stuffed olives off of one of those stalls on a farmers market, but didn't really take much notice of what they were stuffed with. :duh

I was starving so ate about 15 :really as part of my lunch. (felt a bit dodgy after due to all the oil !). They were stuffed with cloves of garlic so I must have eaten a couple of bulbs at one sitting.

It wasn't only the mossies that were staying away from me that afternoon. :rofl

I LOVE GARLIC

I never ever get bitten by mossies and I have always put this down, Gray, to being the same as you and consuming garlic in what most would consider, vast quantities. I just love to add the beautiful flavour of fresh garlic to any dish that I can.

Whilst in Egypt, I do find that I suffer "withdrawal" symptoms, as, when catering for the masses, most chefs will add less rather than more garlic to their cuisine. When I had my restaurant, however, I must admit to using just as much in my menu dishes as I would for myself! Not one person ever remarked or complained about the amount of garlic in the food.

I am considering taking garlic capsules on my next trip to Egypt as I'm sure that my digestion suffers without a good intake of this lovely ingredient.

:D
Well our next trip is caravan through Garlic Country (France and Spain) even so got 4 bulbs in the van to start me off

Let me know how the garlic capsules work will you, as since I had to start Warfarin I get bitten -- or rather react more to the bites than I used to
Before it was the mozzies that reacted to me -- they died after biting me used to be my party trick ---- got me quite a few free drinks as folk couldn't believe it

going back to jelly fish, are there many around the coral sea resort i jodnt want them spoiling the snorkelling

Hard to tell whether they will be there or not

They don't spoil the snorkelling they are fun to swim through especially as they rend to allow you to get even closer to some of the more timid fish by acting as camoflage

yes, but would they still sting if you swim through them, im just an over protective mum i know, but i woudl be nervous for my son swimming there

Most people have not reported anything apart from amusement of swimming with stingless jellies

the occassional one complained of a mild tingle which went after 2 minutes
