hi myself (22) and my boyfriend (nearly 24) have decided we would like to go on holiday this August coming, we would like to go to stalis crete (i have posted another thread about this) however i am worried i have left it too late to find something we want so i was wondering if anyone has any ideas or experiances of other destinations we could go to? we are limited to August as i go to uni and need to be back around the 8-10th sept at the latest.
anyway i have no idea where we would like to go, we went to protaras cyprus last year and loved it there, although its quite expensive to get to i think, weve also been to courfu0- just outside of kavos and dont think i would go there again, we went to play de las americas at new year and that was ok but i think we prefere to be just out of the main (clubbing) area maybe in a nice livley but relaxed resort next to it and still have the option to go into the more livley resort for example thats what we did when we went to protaras. and thats why we like the idea of stalis with it been in the middle.
we like greece, if anyone has any opinons or sugestions that would be really helpful, having said about the clubbing thing, we only ventrued out to that area once on our last hol, so mayebe this isnt needed although id like to have the option of a change of scenary if we get bored.
thanks! x
hersonnosis in crete would also be ideal, or if not lagana in zante is lovely
we like a few good/livley bars with entertainment but also like a quiter bar now and then that maybe shows films and such like if we dont feel like having a mad one and of course the football for my boyfriend especially now stoke have been promoted! lol and the usual nice restraunts as we like to go self catering and try different places each night.
if anyone would like to share any information on these places that would be really helpful, although having looked at reports for Kalamaki i cant decide if i would rather go here or stalis now!
Your only a short ride/walk away from Laganas if you wanted really lively, although Kalamaki has enough to keep most entertained. I would recommend hiring a car though and seeing the rest of the island.....it's beautiful and easy to get around.
Hi, I went to Stalis a fair few years ago now when I was about your age (God I sound old! ONLY 37!!) and also been to Laganas. If it hasn't changed too much in that time then my choice would have to be Stalis. It's got plenty of bars/restaurants without being OTT and a nice beach too and is only a short walk into Malia which is much livelier...or that's how I remember it anyway. Don't know much about Kalamaki I'm afraid but wasn't that struck on Laganas. Hope this helps a little...let us know what you decide.
thanks for your opinons, think im goin to go into some travel agents on saturday and see whats avialble, i will let you know where we end up!
why not give turkey a try the weather in aug/sept is really hot and it's a lot cheaper gumbet'bordrum'marmaris you should get a brouchure an have a look even cheaper when you get there and the shopping is brill ,food good, and the people are so friendly
I went to Crete one year and Turkey the following year. Both times AI but we also ate out. Despite what Turkey fans will have you beleive there really didn't seem that much difference in price. Both in terms of the AI packages I secured and eating & drinking out, unless I just struck lucky. However the big plue Greece has over Turkey is the 'no hassle' factor, which Turkish Authorities say they are addressing however the reality can be somewhat different. Some people will call this friendlyness others will feel they are being harrassed, you pays your money and takes your choice really.
Hope you get something booked, Doe
has anyone stayed at this hotel, it would be great if someone could tell me what its like and how far it actually is from stalis, i have read reviews on other sites and they all seem good.
