OMG we've just booked with these Hello Holiday people and yes the price was more than advertised, not a great deal more but it was more! Also they've just phoned me to say that the apartment isn't available and we'll have to stay somewhere else but because of this they've upgraded us from a studio to a 1 bed apartment. (I thought we'd booked a 1 bed apartment in the first place????? )This holiday is still being advertised on the icelolly website and the original accomodation is still showing as available on their website.....I'm quite worried now as the monies have been taken from my account.....we only booked this on Tues so suppose it's too early to sorry that the tickets haven't arrived yet....Oh dear I mentioned, to my pal, at the time of booking, about not feeling too comfortable with giving my details.....any suggestions anyone...or maybe somebody have travelled with them without any problems...and this second apartment will really be better than the first.

I'm not sure what your concern is here.

When you say they have moved you to somewhere else do you mean within the same resort or to a different resort? Was there anything about the original place that was a specific reason you booked it?

The fact that they have let you know about the change so quickly doesn't automatically point to anything bad - there are plenty of examples on this board of big name operators not mentioning things like that until the last minute when it's too late to back out. If they have made a genuine attempt to get you what you asked for then they are setting and example that others ought to follow. On the other hand, if they never had the original appartment it could be a sign of trouble......

I know I might have gone into panic mode it's just that this was the first site I logged onto, after receiving the call about changing accommodation, and the message about the guy losing his money etc...made me think 'oh no they aren't to be trusted'.

It's still a wee bit worrying that the icelolly site is still advertising this hol with the original accommodation and the apartments website is still saying rooms are available there for the dates we've booked, which are 29th June for a week. (The swop is from the janelas do mar to the mirachoro 1)

...but you're totally right we don't mind being moved as long as it's the same type with the same facilities. I think yesterday I was getting a feeling of the holiday wouldn't happen and we wouldn't get our money back.

Thank you very much for replying to the panic post of yesterday. I'll keep holidaytruths updated ...hopefully the tickets will arrive next week and I'll be able to report back, that a good time was had by all....... :-)

I hope you have better luck than I did!

We originally chose our dates online whereupon the first error went through undetected that it was a 7 day scheduled flight and hotel deal package; yet we chose 5 days and they processed it not telling us that it was a 7 deal package. After it all came to light < 18 hours before we were due to fly out, I logged onto the website and was completely dismayed to find that I could again book on for as little or as many days as I liked despite the fact it would cause no end of problems for the return back. Of course that was just the one aspect, the bigger problem was that no tickets of any sort or any official confirmation ever came.

Seriously good luck! I'm still waiting a reply to my complaint!!
