Someone else noticed it dissapeared also.

It's annoying, one of my topics got moved and I spent ages looking for it today, surely we should be notified if stuff like this happens? That's what happens on other boards

If you click you're profile tab under you're type you can see all you're posts there, so it's easy enough to find you're posts

They merged it with another one called Who is going and when 2008.

It's confusing doing that though as all the topics i've ever posted in are on there, and not in any particular order either, there's a topic there right at the top of the list that i haven't posted in for months, plus if you don't know the name of the topic your post has been merged in it can be difficult to find too.

You can find your posts immediately by clicking on your profile.

Just to add to what Briar has said, we normally merge the Who's Going Where/When, weather topics, etc otherwise the first page would be full of similar topics with more relevant ones pushed onto Page 2 or further.

Regarding advising members that their topics has been moved or merged, as you can see the Turkey topic attracts dozens of posts in a day all of which are read by a moderator. That is only a part of a moderator duties and it takes a long time. We all moderate on a part-time voluntary basis and most of us have full-time jobs, family and other commitments which means that there simply isn't the time to advise every member each time a post is moved or merged.

It would really help if members could check before posting whether a similar topic already exists and add it, either by scanning the first few pages or by using the Search facility.
