We're going to this hotel for the week comencing 4th July. I've been looking for reports about this hotel but could only find one on this site, and the ones I've found on other sites give the impression that there's not much activity going on round and about, it's fairly isolated, and you really need a car to get about. As we're doing a cruise of the Greek islands for the first week of our holiday there's not much left in the kitty for car hire.
I'm wondering now if I've made the right choice, I'm beginning to think I've made a big mistake, as there are so many other hotels I could have chosen from, so could anyone who has been to this hotel or know the area let me have some feedback please, are there any canoes or kayaks for hire anywhere?

http://www.pelekas.com). Otherwise it is a 30 minute walk with the first 15 minutes uphill.
A taxi would probably cost about 10 euros each way. The local taxi driver is called Thodoris and his number is 6944962940.
There is also a regular bus service between Corfu Town and Glyfada.
My advice would be to enjoy your beach holiday but have a day in town on the bus, get the free minibus to Pelekas for an evening's eating and drinking and get a taxi back to the hotel, and rent a car for a day to see a bit more of the island. The week will pass very quickly!
Incidentally, the local car rental company can be found at http://www.corfumegarentacar.com and may be cheaper than the companies offered by the tour operator.

Thanks for that information it's a great help, had visions of being stranded. My husband says I get withdrawal symptoms if I can't go shopping every day.
Can you tell me if you enjoyed your stay, we are staying there at the end of september and would like to know if there are any rooms with a nice sea view and with a peacefull location. Is the water warm. How long from the airport til you get to the hotel?
Would apprieciate a reply and any comments you think maybe useful
Look forward to hearing from you
