I would recommend Puerto Pollensa, but then fans of other resorts would recommend them. You don't say what age you are or what interests you have, both of which could be important in your choices.
PP has a long flat prom, excellent for walking. The town is fairly compact but has everything in it for most people ( no kid's fairs, amusements or water parks). The south beach is a long sandy beach, excellent for swimming, while the north beach off of the Pine Walk is good for resting on one of the boat-slips, dangling your feet in the water and looking at the stunning view. The town is busy without being overly crowded and there are lots of excellent restaurants and bars of every variety. The shop-aholics will also find lots to interest them. The pedestrian area leading to the Pine Walk is a favourite drink and people-watch spot, or for a meal in the evening.
There is a regular bus service to surrounding areas and to Palma. Pollensa town is well worth a visit, the centre dates from the 17th century and there is the famous Calvari steps, from the top of which you can look across the north east of the island. If you want to hire a car the roads are safe and excellent.
Boat trips run from the harbour, an excellent trip is the boat out to Formentor beach and back by bus (no bus on a Sunday). This gives the best of sea views going out and mountains coming back.
There is a market in the square every Wednesday morning, or in Pollensa and Alcudia on a Sunday morning.
