sorry to hear about this. i'm sure everything will be fine. try ringing the airport(if you know which one) that they left from and give them their names, they may be able to tell you if they were on any of the sharm flights that day.
Due to data protection laws, it is unlikely that the airline or airport would be able to disclose any info about passengers, even to anyone claiming to be friends or relatives. If those involved are firmly believed to be missing in Egypt and there are concerns over their safety, then it might be best if relatives contact the Foreign Office in London or the British Embassy in Cairo. It's possible that the passengers might have pre-registered with the Foreign Office LOCATE service, which the British Embassy should have access to.
what a terrible story ! I know how frightening it is to have someone go missing without explanation and feel so very,very sorry for your daughter's friend.
