hi phill i went to playa blanca last christmas its lovily.i stayed in the lanzarote princess a lovily hotel.there are plenty of shops selling the same stuff as you get anywhere really. the beach is nice and the rubican marina is lovily the promanade is a long stretch really nice. im afraid i cant really tell you much more as we were happy with the hotel we didnt really venture out enjoy
ive looked, doesent answer some questions though
is costa teguise worth a visit.
That depends what you're looking for in a resort so you'll need to be more specific as to how you define a good day out. If you read the resort reports for CT and you still have unanswered questions then you'll need to ask those questions otherwise members won't be able to assist.
How many shops is there is PB?
Your answer is in the resort reports.
What about arrecife is it worth a visit??
Again, you'll need to be more specific as to how you define a good day out.

Puerto Del Carmen OK ish ,plenty of nightlife ,and fair amount of shops.
Not been to Costa Teguise ,but the beach on the web cam looks fine.
Playa Blanca, its an exceptional place with plenty of shops, superb walks along the prom which is blockpaved and a new marina with restuarants and bars.
Several bars throughout the town put on nightly entertainment.
Hope this helps a little, its my kind of place.
Ok but it doesent say there are 40 shops or a number? i dont want a number but rough estimate? i also want to go the beach under the airport? what days apart fron thurs are busiest?
The town centre has far too many camera shops for most of our liking, lots of gift shops, a few clothes shops, plus the usual banks and estate agents. there's also a couple of jewellery shops.
There's also a couple of commercial centres dotted about.
The beach under the airport is at the far end of Matagorda. half hour drive in the car from Playa Blanca.
Costa Teguise doesn't have quite as many shops as Playa Blanca, but is still a nice day out if you fancy sitting on the beach, windsurfing, or watching the world go by in a bar.
Arrecife is the Island's capital - and as such is not a tourist resort. There are lots of little tapas bars about... more shops than anywhere else on the Island... and more geared towards us residents, and Spanish visitors. If you can speak Spanish... then head over - but remember most stuff is close for siests during the afternoon.
Look out for trips to Teguise market - It's on a Sunday morning. It's the biggest market on the Island.
You asked which days apart from Thursday are busiest? Pretty much all the same apart from that. There are planes coming here every day from all over Europe.
We will all try to help you - try and give us an idea of what you really enjoy doing - and we can point you in the right direction. there are some real Lanzarote fans in this forum... and a few of us live here too... so will help where we can.

No, I don't suppose it does!phil08 wrote:Ok but it doesent say there are 40 shops or a number?
do i get a bus 2 matagorda ? then walk the airport on the coastal walk? how far that take?
when is best to go arrecife?what time do shops shut/reopen?
on hol we like visiting new places, going to new resorts, going beach there and main centre area!
Best time to go to Arrecife is either in the morning, or in late afternoon. I think the shops are closed from 1pm until 5pm... but that may differ a little from shop to shop. If you do go to Arracife... find the Grand Hotel (tallest building on the Island) and have a drink in the bar there. It's on one of the top floors, and has fantastic views.

so busiest day for aircrafts iv heard is thursday which aint good as i come and go on thurs, and sunday?
my flight back to Manchester is thurs so sun should be good? is it worth ahving a look in the centre of matagorda good?
It's at least 14 storeys high - which is tall for Lanzarote. There is a law here that says no buildings are allowed to be built taller than the tallest palm tree. Do a search on "Cesar Marique" and you'll find information about the Lanzarote artist who was responsible for helping most of this come into place.
Yes, Thursday is the busiest day. But if you are getting a taxi from the airport - then don't worry about queues... they go down quite quick.
Not sure why you're so worried about busiest days though?
The centre of Matagorda has a few bars and restaurants, and a couple of shops. It's quite small... but very cosy. We like it there. If you are there in the evening - then go to Chev's bar... and say hello to Chev from me. he's a good fella.

Ah... I see. Ok - then possibly Sunday - but you'll see a number of planes any day.
ok not when i check on aena.es
Hi phil. I would say if you still have any unanswered questions that you can't find the answers to on this forum, you should make sure you go to the welcome meeting when you get here and get all the info you need from the reps. You may also get more out of the island by taking the organised tours that are around.
Hi I have been to Correlejo about seven times staying at los Alisios, the last time inundated with lots of cockroaches even in the apartment.that was last november and some people say it is only to be expected in a hot country.Well we went to Playa Blanca a/i at Rio Playa blanca bungalows and never saw one.In Playa blanca itself we never so one,so guess where we will be going in the future!!!!!!!!!
I have to say I saw cockroaches each time I stayed in PB but I fully expected that. Saw them when I stayed in PDC too
