Are there any Gambia fans out there who have been to goa and can give a comparison?
trying to persuade wifey (SWMBO) to give Gambia a try, but she is a bit wary of some of the reports we have seen.
Especialy, she is worried about the "bumpsters".
We both love Goa and someone who has experienced both can maybe give us a fair comparison.
Suggestions for which resort would be welcome, we like Candolim in goa as a guide.

We have booked an holiday to......................... Goa this November !!!!!!
Does that tell a story ? Not really. We have chosen to go Goa for several reasons.
1)We have been to Gambia this year already
2)If you are going to need a VISA we might as well get one that runs from mid October to mid April and that way if a cheap last minute deal comes up in the New Year we are in a position to take it !
3)If we have a VISA we need to guarentee a holiday in India so we have booked a good deal early on.
We may well end up going to Gambia in the New Year instead of a second visit to India, on the other hand we might get two trips out of the one VISA then it will definitely be Gambia the following year.
The benefits of the Gambia are better quality hotels at cheaper prices. Most are better placed for the beaches than is often the case in Northern Goa. If you are looking for a beach holiday, the beaches are less crowded, cleaner and less polluted.
Shopping is limited and there isn't a big counterfeit trade as there is in India.
Trips and outings are limited, both in Goa and Gambia.... unless you are into bird watching ( feathered kind) then it's a high score draw !
You have to try both to compare, and it needs to be a recent visit as these places are all changing rapidly.
Who would have thought that Vietnam and Cambodia would be high on the current desirable holiday list only a few years ago ?
