We are looking for a 2 bed apartment in a 4* (or good 3*) family complex in Albufeira, ideally within walking distance of both the Old Town and the Strip, but nearer the Old Town would be our preference. I have looked at the usual "hotel" websites but most only have 1 bedroom and the 2 bedroom apts that are availalble are quite expensive. We quite like the idea of a private rental and have seen a few 2 bed apts at Parque da Corcovada, which looks nice but I don't know much about the location, facilities, etc. We have two boys, 9 and 13, who would like a nice pool and ideally other activities going on such as minigolf, football, etc.
We need accommodation for two weeks from 14th August 2008 and any recommendations or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Parque Da Corcovada is situated around the Globe world roundabout near Albufeira Bull ring. A short walk to The Strip/St Eulalia but approx 2kms to the old town. Nice brand new complex with a mix of large villas on one side of the road and 1, 2,3, 4, bed apartments on the other side of the road which has only just been completed for occupation in the last few months. I would imagine the majority of them are privately owned.
jansiddell, http://www.algarvegetaways.com has corcovada on there website. barbara and howard who run getaways are brilliant, we stayed in another complex called solario de sao jose last august and the apartment was of a high standard. these apartment are also on the alagarvegetaways website. barbara arranged the transfers for us, which were excellent.

Thanks for your replies. Having now done some research and reading that the Strip, according to many, now resembles "Blackpool" I think we would prefer to be closer to the Old Town of Albufeira. If we are not able to find any suitable accommodation there we will look at other resorts such as Vilamoura or Carvoeiro. If anyone has any suggestions for 2 bed apartments in a complex conveniently located in either of these resorts it would be most helpful. Thanks again.
