Hi Claire
We went to the Sol Sharm lst novemeber for a week and had a great time, lots of Italians there at the time though and not a problem, it's a bit of a walk to the beach from the hotel but there is a free shuttle bus that takes you there, now that implies that it's a long way but it isn't, it's just a five minute walk, we stayed around the pool though, flight to Cairo is about 1Hr but you can go by coach which is about 6hrs!!!, any other info just let me know, as i say a good hotel nice rooms good food, never had a problem. :tup

hi i stayed at the sol sharm sept 2007 and had a fab time. its a good taxi ride into naam bay but the hotel does do a free shuttle a few times a day. i would recomend the snorkling trip and the quad biking thes were booked in naam bay for half the price of the hotel, if youve never snorkled before you have got to try it it was fantastic.the food was ok a bit repetative an the enertainment bad but funny there is a singer some nights and also karaoki we realy enjoyed it if you need to know anythin else let me know.

:) Well we are now back in cold/wet england!!!

We had a fantastic time, the hotel were great and 99% of the staff were friendly and helpful...the food is nice but as people said it was a bit repetative..Snorkelling is just out of this world its a must Im not a strong swimmer and therefore a bit weary of the water but really enjoyed snorkelling!

We decided against going to Cairo in the end, but we did go on a jeep safari, glass bottom boat, snorkelling in the blue hole and for a camel ride.

My one piece of advice if anyone is travelling to Sharm is to be strong with the taxi drivers!! we got a taxi back from old sharm and the driver agreed with us a price of 40... which we thought was a bit cheap so agreed.. then we are half way back to the hotel only to be told he was expecting £40 english!!! We obviously were not going to part with that amount for a reasonably short taxi ride, told him to stop... he didnt he continued to our hotel where we presented him with 40 egyptian £... he laughed and said weres the rest when we told him that was all he was gettin and walked away he wasnt very happy lol

After all the worrying about the flight I was fine, simply took some Kalms before the flights and I was fine, i even moved out of my seat and looked out of the window!!

Hiya OldhamKTF

Ok in answer to your questions

1) You get given a towel card with which you can collect a clean towel from the pool area with each day... you can take these out with you if you go anywhere.. so as for taking your own the choice is yours

2) There is a private beach for the hotel which is about a 10 min walk or you can jump on the hotel bus which runs every 15 mins up and down to the beach

3) I would recommend taking your lil one out on a glass bottom boat, seeing the fish is just amazing...as is snorkelling anywhere around the area. I would also recommend taking the little one out to go on a camel.. the experience is something you will never forget. We didn't do any other excursions which would be suitable for children but my advice would be to look around dont grab the first ones which are offered to you. We used a company in Namma Bay they were great picked us up from the hotel , we had english speaking guides etc

4) I don't remember any room numbers but me and my sister were on different side of the hotels and she had a brilliant view of the sea from her room :)

5) sorry I don't have an email address

6)The pirate ship near the pool has toilets inside of it and you can get up on the top to have a look around the resort...It all lights up at night and looks really nice. There is also a bridge which goes through the top of the water on that pool. There is also a ping pong table at the side of the pirate ship and the bats can be obtained from any of the great staff on reception

I hope i am not too late and you get my replies :) Have a great holiday the staff at Sol Sharm are great!!!! :sun2
