I have been in Playa twice a year since 2003 and came back 3 weeks ago. You lads will love it!
Here's some places for a great time:
The Irish Centre: cheap drinks at some bars so chaeck them out. Footie matches on large screen & tv's as well as Karaoke and bar crawls at Keanes is a must.

Kasbah: within walking distance, this is where most of the clubs are with some good bars; particularly The Garage. Avoid what you buy here as there are a lot of fake watches, sunglasses and designer gear.

Yumbo: More clubs such as Heaven and some great bars/restaurants/shops with all sorts of entertainment. Be aware that anything goes here so you will find drag acts, street entertainers, cabaret, quiz nights...everything! La Belle is great if you are looking for a good up to date drag show. 3 weeks ago they were performing Rocky horror.
Play beach is nice, water is cold!
Best beach is Maspalomas coz of dunes.
If you are going on a booze cruise be ready to chuck up all you've eaten/drunk....the Atlantic sea is not always friendly!
Don't bother with the dolphin/whale excursions as you are not guaranteed to see any.
Waterpark is expensive.

There are loads of places to get cheap drinks around Playa, just have a wander in each direction
Also a taxi between 4 of you will cost less than 75p each to Yumbo.

well thanks for the two replies i have had thanks for the links and thanks two smurfitt for the great info means alot to me for you to take the time out to tell me about all these things!!! well what you have wrote it sounds like the kinda place to suit us do you think it will be busy the start of july ??? and how hot do you think it will be ??? how much is like a pint or bottle of beer and how much are alcho pops last year in greece we were paying around 2 euros a beer or 2 for 5 euros and 5 euros for a smirnoff or wkd is it any cheaper in P.D.I????? or dearer thanks again for you reply

Be sure to check out the price of drinks before you buy. We went to a bar in the Irish Centre which had a 2 for 1 Happy Hour. However 2 drinks, vodka and lemonade, were €12 and this was a few years ago.

But be careful! I was there, sitting minding my own business, enjoying the show and then at the end I got dragged up on stage! I was up there for about 45 mins taking part in the dances and then the gameshow! (mind you, I came 2nd!)

It really was a great night in there. It was the last night of our holiday and was 100% the best one we'd had.
