, HI .
I have searched this forum for a while now , reading and researching, now its time to sign up and say hello to you all and hopefully get some ideas from you lovely lot !
me and my girlfriend have decided on probably Lanzarote for a nice weeks holiday in September. However we are not sure on which resort yet .
We would like lovely sandy beaches with clear sea, a nice selection of restaurants and places to eat in the evening, with some classic entertainment if we need . we dont want somewhere overly party style, but we want it too be busy enough to have a nice 'happy' holiday vibe going on, where it is fairly busy and were not the only people in the restaurants. we'd like a nice share of shops/markets/boutiques to check out and basically have a nice little wander around. we dont want to go to a tiny resort with only about 10 little shops and 5 restaurants and a lovely beach. as we would get bored very quick i think.
so we woiuld like to walk around, maybe along the beach or seafront, and have little bars to go in with a little bit of entertainment and a few people enjoying thereselves . we are 28 and 29 , we are not wanting a quiet distant holiday , but certainly not an overly loud pub/bar with music pumping out and down the street untill 6am . we just want a nice, romantic, relaxing , place to walk about , and plenty of shops , restaurants , and a lovely beach , with entertainment to keep us happy.
we think Lanzarote may be for us , however we didnt really know which resort ...
we originally thought of costa teguise , but it seems it will be too quiet and a little dead in early september ?? ,
so now we were looking at Playa Blanca , is this usually slightly busier , with more entertainmet, places to walk round with nice beaches .. but still avoiding being overly busy ??
any suggestions on my preferences, or other resorts in Lanzarote would be really good. as we are struggling to pin-point a place to go. as the resport reports for both these places are very similar .
thankyou ,
also if anyone knows of any good online websites where i may find a cheap deal to lanzarote for a week id love any suggestions you have .
I love Playa Blanca but it's been a few years since I was last there so I'll leave it to the regulars to respond more fully

Puerto del Carmen has the sandy beaches, and loads of shops and restaurants and great walking, but perhaps not as upmarket as PB
As regular readers are aware, Costa Teguise is my least favourite resort, and as I rarely go there I can't comment!!
September is, IMO, the best month here on Lanzarote. I'm not too sure that you will find cheap deals any more though!!
"Puerto del Carmen has the sandy beaches, and loads of shops and restaurants and great walking, but perhaps not as upmarket as PB"
by not as upmarket you mean it isnt as pretty and maybe a little more grimey. I do not want a Blackpool abroad type destination, thats for sure.
i like the idea of P.D.C. beciase it seems lively and lots of restaurants etc , but i dont want it to be overly crowded and tacky .
maybe PB then ...
has playa banca got many restaurants to choose form , with plenty of entertainment if we want to find it ? , evern a bit of a quiz, or bit of music, thaat sort of thing . is the promanade pretty and nice to stroll down on an evening ?
I personally prefer the beaches in PB too, the sand, as I remember it, is softer and lighter but the beaches are smaller in the town area than those of PDC. I spent lots of time on the beach in the Playa Flamingo area of PB, that's within walking distance of the centre of PB.
Loads to do, great beaches, and a lovely beach walk to Matagorda, 3 or 4 miles.
Loads of bars & restraunts, but never in yout face
Playa Blanca I feel would be too quiet for you mate
Danny
