I like both,(can't beat the beach for a great tan! ) but my lot prefer the pool so that's where we go.

The only trouble we have at the mo, is our active two year old who likes to wonder, and water is a magnet to them at this age :yikes, so on our next hols, hopefully we can find a spot which isnt to near the pool. or failing this, it will probably be a few trips to the beach/park

Jackie, I have the perfect solution for you. Get an extending dog lead, measure the distance to the pool, add a foot, place handle under sunbed leg, attach lead to child, lie back with cocktail and trashy novel! ;)

Jackie,
We have just been on holiday with our little grandaughter, she is just the same!! We bought her
a little swimming costume with an inflatable middle!! Can't remember what it was called, but i will post back when I do. Got it from Home Bargains £4.99 (In Mothercare they are £20+)
Won't save a child's life of course - but enables you to relax just a little. Also got her a tiny lifejacket - same thing - won't save a life, but buys you a little bit of time!

both have their qualities, really, pool is fab for a reet nice comfy sunbed and you can meet people who are staying on the complex, but beach for playing frisbe and bat n ball and a good long walk looking for rockpools with the kids ( that means hubby too !!! ) only downside with the beach is if its windy , ooohhh, sandblasing your skin hurts ! oh, and removing sand from EVERYWHERE !!!

Have discovered the pleasures of a pebble /shingle beach the las 2 years .Lovely sound of the sea lapping but no sand everywhere the sun don't shine after a swim , just need beach shoes fo wgoing into the water but a small price to pay.

Definately the pool. We live 2 minutes from the beach so it doesn't really do anything for us, can go whenever we want to but we don't except to walk along on the rare nice evening. Even when we have booked a hotel on the beach we have only ever walked along it or sat and had a coffee (Magaluf beach) and watched the world go by. I hate sand, it gets everywhere.

I like to sunbathe around the pool, but I love walking on the beach, or just sitting watching the sea, Linda.

I'm a pool person ............. the only time I've spent any time sunbathing on the beach was in Mexico where the sand was like talcum powder and stayed lovely and cool

I think I prefer the pool but I do like a day or 2 on the beach also. Hubby isn't so fussed on entering the water of either the pool or beach and generally when he's fed up of lying on the sunbed he'll want a game of cards or go to the bar. I love sunbathing and frequently dipping in and out of the water, whether it's the sea or pool.

I like both the pool and the beach, but I do find in the height of summer, it is always seems to be boiling hot around the pool, so then I prefer the beach, as there is often a breeze. I don't like pools where the sunbeds are all packed close together though, you can't seem to even turn over without disturbing your neighbour!! Denny

Auntiepink-thanks for that brill tip, i am going to buy two extending dog leads tomorrow, one for the toddler and one for hubby, who performs disappearing acts superbly(especially when a bar is near by) :rofl
Denny53-I assume they do these floaties for Boys too? they sound just the job for my son, who isnt that confident in Water yet. Thanks :)

Hi Jackie,
Thought it was only mine and sis's hubby that did that. Bet yours doesn't disappear for hours on end does he? It seems to have become a routine with our hubbies. At around 11ish (normally first day)they'll set off on a "walk to see what's around" and they'll come wondering back, more than half cut, just as sis and I are ready to go out in the evening. This year we said if we can't beat them we'll join them. Don't think they'll like that :rofl

My husband doesn't like to sit in the sun and so often goes for walks.
More often than not, both our lads go with him, which suits me just
fine because it leaves me to :sun2 to my hearts content!

I was in Zante Tsilivi which I love and have been 4 times

just got back last thursday from Tsilivi Zante , but this time came back with no mozzie bites or anything this year which for me is brilliant and yes I did not go near the beach :D

My hubby doesn't like sunbathing , around the pool or at the beach, in the past
hubby goes walk abouts me and children stay around the pool or on the beach. For the last two years
hubby and boys have gone to see how the " game is going " and i go to the beach on my own . You cant beat the sound of the sea lapping the beach . I think it would have to be Beach for me

Both for me but don't like just sitting on beach or around pool love swimming, this was great when my son was younger but now just the 2 of us. Typical day, me up early swim in the pool before breakfast, have breakfast go for walk around, lunch, beach OH sits on sun lounger in jeans and tea shirt reading paper - never lies back on sun lounger, has walk to nearest beach bar and sits waving at me in sea, returns to beach while i get changed. Walk around town, OH goes off to his local bar, I go back to the apartment or hotel pool for swim.
