Hi folks
Can anyone reccommend anything for snoring whilst on my holiday? my boyfriend keeps me awake even after drinking copius amounts of red wine every night, I can still here the pig like noises, we have heard about a guard that you put in your mouth, any help much appreciated..I am gonna buy from boots we go in 4 weeks and want to tick it of holiday list...

boots sell a snore spray, its in a purple little bottle and called STOP SNORING, that has worked for my OH before, you just spray the back of your throat at bedtime
might get one of those for my hubby . He always sleeps on his back which makes it worse but when he,s had a beer or several its unbearable . I normally get a break if I manage to move him on his side and hope that ive fallen asleep before he rolls back to his normal position 
EAR PLUGS. hub snores like the proverbial too, ive wonr them for about 15 years,,, the spongy industrial ones, he gets them from his work for me,,,, they cut out a lot of noise, ( i could still hesar the kids when babies, but thats an instinct thing i think) but no the only time he wakes me is if hes makin the bed vibrate, or is REAALY lound and facing me ear,
last holiday we had we had to have 2 rooms, one with a kid in each, it was BLISS

Thanks guys, I will get, earplugs, and that snore spray, anything and everything to help me not hear that dreadful noise, Yep sounds a good idea for him to sleep on balcony, trouble is if he gets up wonders where he is and falls off the damn thing, knowing him, heres to peaceful nights on hol..

I was going to say "a pillow" but thought it might be a bit harsh!
As someone else said - boyfriend/balcony sounds good to me!

Made my other half sleep on balcony last year in Turkey
......if the strips don't work stuck on in the normal way, then use them to stick his lips together i confess i am a snorer and used them like that on a holiday sharing a room with my sister, she cracked up when she woke up and saw what i had done. - dotty

On a serious note, it may be a condition called sleep apnoea, that is causing the snoring problem. There are basically two types, one where people nod off unexpectedly during the day and another ( like mine) that causes so much snoring that it can affect your heart ie the heart cant rest when you are asleep as it should. It is very common in men and can be cured by means of having to sleep with a mask on connected to an air machine. But its a very long winded process to get one as this part of the health service is very underfunded...My wife has every sympathy with your problem..good luck

Will be trying anything and everything, I just cant sleep through it, its really frustrating getting disturbed every 10-15 mins, then I end up clock watching till daylight appears then go sit on balcony, then sleep all day on the beach...

my hubby snores big time sounds like a tractor going through the house going for a week to ibiza and will get little sleep .then going to turkey with girlfriends in sept and my friend snores too so i cant win on either holiday . i need a weeks rest when i get back just to try and catch up on some sleep

hya kazza, go for the eblow manouver, right in the ribs, yeah, I know, sounds harsh, but my hubby sounds like a pneumatic drill most nights, worse on hols, so I have to resort to a little nudge !!!

This is a great thread, I already have the strips (breathe right), but will go to Boots and buy the spray also. Last year I was able to buy thin blue strips that melt on your tongue, that help stop snoring, but the shops dont seem to have them anymore and I cant remember what they are called.

Bonnie lass- I know the strips you are on about, they melt on your tongue, boots had them last when I bought them for my fella, they worked abit, but I am gunna try nasal strips and spray...anything that will stop him waking me up at stupid a clock...
