Hi,
we're going SC to Stalis in just over a week. We're trying to be careful with our budget this year (credit crunch etc) and wondered if we'd save money by taking foodstuff with us or are most things cheaper in the supermarkets. I've been to Greece on numerous occasions and know that it used to be a lot cheaper than the UK but with prices having risen dramatically over the last year or so am wondering whether it'll be worth me taking a few things with me. If so, what sorts of things would be cheaper to buy over here. I know crisps have always been a lot more expensive in Greece. Would it be worth me taking, tea, coffee, jam etc or are these cheaper out there. Any advice is appreciated. Also, where will I find a big supermarket. We'll be staying on the beach road between Stalis and Malia but believe we'll be closer to Malia. Thanks
If you buy local produce, such as fruit and veg, you should help to keep your costs down, and you won't be risking excess baggage charges with your food added in your packing with your clothes, shoes, beauty products, towels etc!!
