We stayed at the Maritimo in Playa de Muro last month and popped into the Tonga to see what it was like and have to say that the whole atmosphere of the place had changed. When we stayed it was June (I think!) and as such 3 floors were empty so it was busy enough but not overcrowded until the last few days when the kids broke up from school.
This time the Tonga at 3pm in the afternoon was like Piccadilly Circus! The reception was alive with people and the pool area PLUS the extensive grass areas beyond were packed with sunbeds and towels. It's clearly a buzzing family hotel with emphasis on the buzz and I think anybody looking for balmy afternoons laying around in peace and tranquility will have a nsaty shock. Even the grass around the 'crazy golf'(?) tables was taken up

I expect that all inclusive has this effect as people stay close to the hotel and don't venture out but don't forget to take your ear plugs.
