Its a typcally Indian hotel, basic, rock hard beds but clean, friendly staff and dogs and a decent thai restaurant. Breakfast not much cop but we just go up the road for Annas banana pancakes
Only problem we had was that we had a room ovrlooking the road, which I love, but a small bar up the road insisted on playing very loud music til 4am, so they moved us to a room at the side overlooking the spare land next door- was great to see the people cooking their dinner every night
Easy walk to everywhere, easy for transport too, buses stop at the end of the road, plus tuk tuks and taxi if that way inclined
p.s. We are staying in Baga in January.
Has anyone been to the Hotel Mira this year ? i was going to book for Jan/Feb but someone has told me each facility, ie pool, food, cleaning etc has been split up and is being run by differant franchises and not directly by the hotel.
Don't know sue but we are going in march to this hotel ..polly50 has been to the mira before and she is going back in march too ..so she will be able to tell you when she is next on line ....colleen
The Mira is a lovely small but very friendly hotel, the only thing that changes there is that the pool closes at about 6pm for them to get the Thai Oriental restaurant tables out. This means that the sunbeds are stacked away. The Thai Oriental is owned by different people to the hotel and highly recommended by me anyway. As far as I am aware, and I visited there in December, the hotel is all run by the same people. I would book it without hesitation and in fact am going back there in March - roll on!!!!!
Just hoping norw that my visas will arrive before these deals run out!
If its a good deal I would book it quickly! But, don't blame me if you don't like it, hotels are all a matter of personal preference, but I love it there.
Didnt notice any difference when we were there last month- everything was clean as ever and all helpful as usual, although we don't use the pool, rooms ect were fine
just back today and my cousin is still there at the Mira. We stayed at the SoMy where she stayed last year and she said the rooms are comparable but bar breakfast etc better at he SoMy. The pool is very small and shaded but the hotel it is in good central location, a bit noisy of a night from Shamrocks which goes on until 6am. The oriental meal was fantastic by the way.
Standing facing towards the steps down to the beach at the roundabout where the Tibetan Market and road to Baga is on RHS...its the road down to the left.
yes Betty the Mira is just up there a little ...colleen
And the Thai food is great
Just down from Davids Place, opposite Shamrocks where coffee flows till 6 am and many a song is murdered
Debgreg thats all I need it might make polly50 want to go in there and sing
Well believe me it won't matter what her vocal skills are like as long as she can remain standing she's a winner, as many in there can't
