Coach transfer picking us up at 8 this evening we are all really sad to be going home

Danny
We got back at 2 o clock yesterday morning from what can be best described as a such ''fantastic'' holiday.
Having been to the F.O twice before in April 07 and this year due to the fact I loved the hotel on the previous visits I really had to give the place a chance in the busy peak summer season despite reading the horror reports on unruly kids the sun bed run ect I was prepared to accept this would be truly awful but No absolutely nothing at all like I imagined, now weather we was lucky I do not know but we didn't experience any of the following running for sun beds any cheeky kids and no problems with the lifts.
We got to the Flamingo Oasis at 12:10 Monday morning (4th Aug) having a good on time flight but a long transfer as we had to wait 30 minuites on the coach as some people had some trouble with baggage, finally we got moving stopping first at the Benidorm Plaza the Rio Park, Pelicanos, Flamingo Oasis and the last stop was Regente. We checked in by the lovely English girl Kellie, we had two rooms booked one for Nan and one for me and brother. Before going as usual I emailed and asked for a low floor and asked one of the end rooms that end in a 12 or 13, we got the 6th floor 610 and the end room 613 which is what I asked for! being on that end got the sun all day. The rooms as usual were specious with the 2 singles and 2 couches and my Nan's room 610 was the same and that was just for just one person, usually single rooms are the ones at the side which just consist of 2 single beds and the one sink so it just shows how accommodating they are. She loved how specious they were with the his and hers sinks.
The next day we went down to the main pool area and got 3 sunbeds in the late morning no problem although the main pool was busy we didn't feel crammed in and my brother could easily access the main pool with out climbing over people, we could get sun beds through out all the 2 weeks we were there. yes people were up early to get the sunbeds in the sunny spots where the restaurant is but as it was so hot we didn't mind being in the shade better then frying as I now know from my last visit in March when I did fry yes there's no denying there was lots of children there but they were no trouble just having a good time which was so nice to see. We was all in a lift with a boy who was about 8 and he said to us ''would you like a sweet'' how nice...
I must say that this has been the most friendly hotel we have been to in the summer we all met friends my brother has been talking to some of them on msn tonight and my Nan found a couple who she sat up on the roof with most afternoons. The roof top pool was so nice we loved it up there my brother got an adult card so he come up as well and used that pool allot of the times we was there as no one was in it hardly.
The entertainment was really good I had seen a few of there shows before but the adult ones on later I didn't recall most of them so that was really good to see some things new, there was this man who was so routine he had his tea very early with his family and they were there all the time front of the Que waiting for all the chairs to be laid out ready to run for the table and chairs how sad it was so funny to see him though running for the same table position every evening
The food was good again although repetitive it seemed to beef beef and yes more beef it was funny seeing all the recycled beef Curry beef casserole goulash and what have yah but we found again there's other choices if you didn't fancy beef the other stuff what the chef served on the carvery was cooked ham chicken curry salmon and yes beef the puddings were all are favourite we have all got a sweet tooth so looked forward to that part most oh and the late snacks at night. yes they finally got proper fresh orange juice machines that taste like the one you get at home rather then that Spanish tasting one if you know what I mean lol.
After the main entertainment downstairs we went up to the 25th floor which was opened till 3 in the morning Nan loved it up there there was a guy singing all the golden oldies songs so she was in her element. Yes you have to pay for your drink there but its not everyday you can sit on a roof top with great view over Beni he come over with a t candle popcorn and had cushions for the seats. Its ashame it only opens in the summer season though.
We all went to Terra Metica and had a great evening we got the tickets from the Thomson rep 15€ and got round most of the thrill rides it was really quiet there in the evening the longest we Que was 5 mins it was nice and cool as well which was better then the daytime.
We went to the beach about 5 times and got nice tan we for walks round Benidorm all the shops market ect my brother isn't in to going all round the bars ect night and it seemed to busy so just enjoyed being with them as this holiday was more for them this time as I went out last time I went in April.
Travled with Thomson and the reps were excellent very friendly and helpful.
The longest we waited for a lift was 3 mins down from floor 6 it was just a nice height aswell to be on over looking the pool.
Only slightly negative things to say now we found most of the staff this time VERY RUDE!!!!! and I dont mean the typical 'they didn't smile when they served you at the bar', they were so so sly speaking in Spanish about people and we found the male receptionist very uninterested when you asked them something they would tut and roll there eyes up at you. We all encountered this on several occasions as did other people. some of the bar staff in the veranda bar specially this guy and woman were really sly for calling guest this really p***** me off as my brother encountered it on one occasion as did I as well. Also my brother had 20 mins left of the computer and the guard went to switch it of whilst he was still on it till oli told him, and had the cheek and told him to ''hurry up''
On the main building the rooms over looking the pool have big slabs of concrete that have fell off floors leaving expose chunks missing from balconys it looks a right mess and i heard they all need work doing on them it seems a lot worse since my last visit in April.
Overall we all had a fantastic time and my Nan was very impressed with Benidorm although she nearly got run over every time we walked out. I would go again in summer season although it wont be next summer as I would like to try somewhere different in Benidorm well..... I say that now lol :p
Danny
A lovely report Danny, glad to here that you enjoyed yourselves.
Hi Sue.
Ooo what was wrong with the staff ?

Some comments about named individuals removed.
For the past few days I've been looking on the Thomson website for the Flamingo Oasis in May, for me my partner and 2 kids 1 and 7 it was £1470 flying from Doncaster, my other half wanted me to book it yesterday with Thomson, but oh no, soft arse here had better ideas, I though I'd have a search look on the web and call around and see if I could get it any cheaper, If not then I'd book it today as I'm off work today.
I just goes to book it now as no one could beat the price, It's now £2456
I'm dead when the other half gets home from work.
I wouldnt mind betting its gone up for the bank holiday although highly unlikely it will drop again.
I hope your hubby isnt too mad. (You could always tell him you made a mistake yesterday :wink)
Good luck!

All the free child places have gone from most of the holidays, even for June July etc, I smell a rat Thomsons.
Just booked it now with our local Thomson shop, £1621, it's more than it would have cost me yesterday but less than they wanted online today, oh well, its done now.
I've got a week at the Paraiso 10 Apts with just me and the other half to look forward to first in November.

I am the Hubby, I'm a relieved man.
We are going to the FO in November and really looking forward to it. The plan is to watch the hotel entertainment and then hit the clubs.
luci
Hi Luci, look out for Terry Foster, the hypnotist, he's very good, he performs at the Flamingo Oasis and also The U.K caberet bar which forms part of the Presidente Hotel.
Thanks Sue. I've read that the entertainment at the hotel is good so we're going to stay for it.
