HI
Returned home yesterday after 3 weeks in the USA,our first week was on the Carnival Liberty
what a ship fantastic all the way, quick and easy check in at 11:45 am, our Stateroom
was to be ready at 1:30 pm,so lunch was being served at Emile,s buffet ,what a suberb range
of food and so well presented, our room was ready at 1:30 , luggage arrivied around 30mins
later our stateroom stewardess Navrina came to introduce her self and to make sure we had all
we needed, large room with huge bed ,matress and pillows so comfy we were asleep as soon as our
heads touched the pillow, room service breakfast always on time we had this on our balcony with the
early morning sun shining on the sea[this is the life]
Sunday day at sea so much to do on this ship difficult to fit it all in.The Golden Olympian dining room
for evening dinner was first class, had our own table as there were 5 in our party, our waiter Justin from
Haiti was good fun and a great waiter.
Monday, our first port of call was Cozumel Mexico a pretty town which we could walk to from the ship
we sailed again that evening at around 8pm.
Tuesday another day at sea lazing on the Lido deck, eating when ever we felt like ,also did some shopping
in the lovely shops on board[all duty free]
Wednesday Grand Cayman again a very pretty old town ,today was the first time we saw rain the heavens
openend and the rain lashed down for around 1hr but it was back on ship by 3:30pm ready to sail again at
4:30
tonight we had a lovely surprise our daughter and her boyfriend anounced their engagement and had
bought a super ring from the jewellers on board,we ordered red roses and a heart shaped chocolate cake
to be brought as a surprise to our table at dinner and about 8 of the waiters were singing Happy Engagement
to you,it made the evening very special.
Thursday Ocho Rios Jamaica this we all agreed was our best port of call,it was so friendly ,sat and watched locals dancing in the town square had a taxi to take us around to see some of the local places of
intrest,we came back to the lovely beach close to where we were docked and went in for a swim in the
warm clear blue sea.tonight we sail at 10:30 for our next day at sea,and our return to Miami.
Friday another fab day at sea ,finding places on the ship that we had not got to see, having more time for relaxing and a swim in the lovely pool that our 11yr old grandson used every day with its slides and waves,
Tonight we ate at Emile,s buffett as a change from the dining room, this was the Chocolate night where all the
deserts were made from chocolate [heavenly]
Saturday our final breakfast on this super super ship disembarkation very smooth and quick were off by 8:30am, taxi to pick up our hire car for our next 4 nights in Orlando, more on that on the America forum to
follow, after another nights sleep to get over our jet lag.

INVALID URL you'll find lots of infor and pictures of the Baltic ports covered by Carnival.
You'l also find lots of info on the effects of the hurricanes over the past month, and while reading, you'll be inspired, reduced to tears and thrown into spasms of uncontrollable laughter in equal measure.
The best news of all is that John will be our cruise director on Liberty next year!!

Obviously, John's videos promote Carnival's own tours fairly heavily, and for anyone unfamiliar with his writing style, he can be a tad unconventional at times.
John will be cruise director on Liberty next summer.
The cruise has been canceled owing to the present climate, the Liberty will remain
in Miami and doing the same as this year The Western and Eastern Carribean

We're looking at Norwegian Jewel leaving Dover the next day as a possible replacement, as we'd already booked Belfast / Heathrow flights which we can change if necessary.
Our TA in Dublin is looking at possible alternatives within the Carnival group with a view towards compensatory OBC or whatever else may be on offer, but I don't see Carnival showering us with goodies.
We'll have to see what happens.
no good to us as our grandson is back in school then, looking to find a cruise in Aug possibly the med

No word of any offers from Princess yet, but they are coming I'm led to believe.
I'm just goingh to keep my powder dry for a few days and see what's available.
I do remember the MSC Lirica was one of the options from Dover and a couple of P&O ships, but I can't remember if it was the Aurora or Arcadia.

If carnival have pulled out and other carnival lines are making prive protected offers then I think this is a sign that there is over capacity in the baltic next year so expect some price drops.
At this stage, part of me is tempted to just claim all my refunds from Carnival, bank the cash, sit tight and wait to see what comes up in the spring. However, the need to secure adjoining cabins for the kids etc. means that's nor realistic.
Also, in case anyone is wondering re copyright of the CruiseKings email, there is nothing on their email stating that it may not be reproduced.

My TA has been dealing with HAL, so far Princess UK have done nothing, although Carnival say they will be making offers. The biggest issue is that with the exception of P&O, the Carnival owned options are leaving from Copenhagen.
In our case, we'd have been flying from Belfast or Dublin anyway so it's just a matter of a longer flight, but Copenhagen would be a stretch for people who were hoping for a no-fly cruise.
