Hi All,
Well thats another 2 weeks gone in what seemed like days...time sure flys by when your having fun.
We stayed in the Sun aparts in the armutulan area with this being our 3rd stay here (9th to marmaris)
As always this family run complex welcomed you and made you part of their ever growing extending family, So thanks to them all (wont mention all names they know how they are )
On marmaris itself i personally did not find it as busy this year as i have in the previous years going (maybe the credit crunch in britain is playing a part?) On the resort prices again i found these to be on par to previous years give or take an odd lira here and there, wont bore you all but average prices
Chicken dishes 13 ytl
Steak dishes 19ytl
Pizza 11 ytl
Breakfast 3-5ytl
Efes 3ytl
coke 3ytl
Calipo 1.5ytl
So all in all we ate, drank and partied as normal and spent around the same money as previous years, the weather whilst there 11th August - 25th August was Hot average 45-48 in the sun and 35 in the shade, with the odd night around 30 degrees!!!
We actually booked our Jeep safari the day before the tragic accident (god bless the families) However we were all given a prep talk prior to setting off, told to put our seat belts on and banned from using water guns whilst driving along the main D400 road, so to be honest i felt safer than i have done before, this said it did not stop us having a great time.
I also had a lazy boat trip which again was great fun, I noticed the Turks have cottoned on to the fact that we brits like football, as i noticed a new Parkhead bar had opened to go along with the Ibrox bar and the anfield bar, and only 5 days ago an Old Trafford bar had opened too (same ownner as ibrox bar)
Most restaurants tried to ask you in to eat or drink, however a polite No Thanks, was enough, i also noticed that some clothes/handbag and watch shops actually let you browse without the hassle
so all in all it was another great holiday in my second home of marmaris, those that are going soon have a great time, those that are thinking about going this or next year, go for it you will not be dissapointed and like most will no doubt become hooked
Hope i have not bored you all to much until next time.....
Viva la Marmaris
Craig
Thanks for taking time to post your report. It is clear you had a great time. Good to hear they are being extra careful on the jeep safaris.
