There are always a lot of wheelchairs at the Flamingo Oasis. My husband broke his ankle whilst we were there and used a wheelchair. The rooms are big and he could get into the bathroom with it. They only do all inclusive though.

Hi....I would also recommend that you contact The Roundtown Tourist Office in Benidorm, its staffed by two British Ladies who are fluent Spanish Speakers, and can give you lots of impartial advice with regards to Hotel Suitability, they can also book accomodation for you if needed. Their phone number and email contact is... 96 681 1123 rt.office@roundtown.info

hi mzjed,
i stayed at the sol pelicanos in May with my dad who is in a wheelchair and while not ideal we managed, we took 2 carers with us who had the room next door, i shared a twin room with dad as i didn't want him left alone.it is close to the levante nightlife and on the flat.here is my previous review.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Not great but it never claimed to be.Bathroom door too narrow to get the wheelchair in but i had anticipated that and hired a commode, also set up a washroom(washup bowl) on the dressing table. The outside door was ample wide enough to get the electric wheelchair through.

We managed by going up and down in various lifts to get where we wanted to be.3 lifts go to the ground floor(1 of which goes to the bar salon where you can gain access to the pool area by going through the hotel maintenance area)2 different lifts go to the restaurant.

Restaurant is on a mezzanine floor, with no lift to the ground floor,so we went from floor 2 to the restaurant in one lift then after our meal went upto the 14th floor to catch a lift to the ground floor(better availability)if we were going to the pool hopefully we got the bar salon lift,if not we then got in at reception.Bit of a chew on but we managed.

There is a small stairlift from reception to the restaurant but we had an electric wheelchair which exceeded the weight limit.

now as for the other hotels in benidorm i believe the only ones with real disabled rooms(walk in showers etc)are :
The Melia
The Best Western Victoria(Taggy has stayed there i believe)
The Gran Bali
The Flamingo Oasis

I phoned all of them and each had all their accessible rooms booked up well in advance,

i phoned most of the hotels from the list provided by holiday truths on another discussion and they all said they were either not suitable for the disabled, or could not guarantee the room until arrival.

Round town while friendly they were not much help, did not seem to know anymore than me.

I booked through thomas cook and even they would not recommend a suitable hotel without having a rep check the hotel out first which they said would take 2 weeks so i just plumped for the pelicanos.
