Hi all,
This is very much a cut and paste job from a PM I sent Pippy, and after her kind reply, thought I would post up to get some more opinions. Tried a search but it was fruitless.
I've booked for me and my partner to go in October, having been to Sharm last year.
We're a same sex couple, and we stayed at the Tropicana Rosetta last year, with no problems, although we did have twin beds.
This time, at the Conrad, the deal we got was for premium jacuzzi sea view room, for only an extra £20 - so we thought go for it!!! But it is a double room.
Do you think there will be any problems from the staff point of view? Any experiences of the situation in the Conrad?
Thanks in advance to you all for any help you can give,
Mike
I was at the Conrad in August this year and there were several same sex couples there. From what I could see ( and I didn't ask!)they didn't seem to suffer any discrimination. I got chatting to 2 guys from Leeds at dinner one night and they said they were having a great relaxing holiday. No idea what type of room they were in tho

Also at hilton nuweiba no problems one couple have been going for 25yrs & staff give them romantic dinners on beach for anniversuries.
Thanks both for your posts
I feel it would only be a problem when/if people were embarrassing in their manner, but i have been more embarrassed by the behaviour of people being downright rude to staff... this i came across in Mexico earlier this year.
Anyway just enjoy the lovely hotel and its even lovelier beach
Phyll
Your closing line (lovelier beach) sort of cements why we chose this hotel, as although we're keen divers, we love sand and snorkelling too!
I do want to just clarify that last time we were in Egypt, we were shown nothing but respect by resort staff, and this post was more aimed at being prepared in terms of not doing anything to offend staff there.
We do respect that we're guests of the country for a short while, and accept that we have to be as equally accommodating to our hosts as they are to us. As it goes, we aint the PDA (public displays of affection) type anyway - much rather spend the time snokelling!!
