just back from delphin palace,fantastic!
stayed at the titanic last summer!
now we are back ,want to book for 2009,but we are really struggling to fina a hotel which looks as good as delphin palace.
we have been told by are rep that barut lara is the best hotel in antalya, with delphin being the third best(cant remember which was number two)
cant say that im eager to book just yet as although it has top reviews im still not sure weather to just go back to the delphin as it was faultless, service was top quality.
so my question is. . . . who has stayed at least two of these hotels to compare??
i know some people last year were going cause i remember we were comparing titanic hotel and delphin.
sallington
Sallington, I've stayed at the Concorde, Titanic, Delphin Palace, Limak Lara and most recently at the Larespark, all great!!! (favorite was the Concorde) Have you thought about moving further up the coast and trying some of the hotels in Belek? many luxury 5* there as well. Zanadu, Cornelia and Rixos Premium (looks spectacular) to name a few!! Sure bluepeterno1 would chip in with a few recommendations as well. Denny
have thought about belek holtels ,cornelia looks nice.only thing that puts me off is there so german, russian orrientated that entertainment is not in english in some hotels.just looking at new hotel called susesi resort.looks great
Sallington.Living only 4 k from all of the Lara Beach Hotels we have stayed at most during the off peak seasons. In my opinion the best two are Delphin Palace Deluxe and Barut Lara.To be honest there is nothing really to choose between them. At the end of the day, it's just down to personal choice. Whichever you choose you will have a cracking good holiday ( well, you know this )
Denny, as you've stayed at many a Turkish hotel I beleive, can you tell me which you think is the best in terms of kids' facilities, they will be 12, 9 & 7 next year. They do like their waterslides and entertainment and we all like good food, having stayed at Lykia World last year we were rather spoiled but am looking for other options.
Also, anyone know the cheapest way to book as there are 6 of us.
Thanks
As you have been to Lykia, what about Club Letoonia in Fethiye,? very similar in a lot of ways to Lykia. Doesn't have as many pools, but it's really good, food there is wonderful, excellent entertainment etc. It's AI and includes branded drinks......
Denny
I have heard excellent reports of Club Letoonia but didn't think it would be suitable in terms of the lack of water slides for the kids unless I have it wrong.
I did look at the Royal Wings in Lara as that had a waterpark but it seems to have disappeared from TC at the moment. Incidently, I have no preference for the resort.
Denny
Pamplemousse - you asked about the cheapest way to book. Have you tried costing it on the Travel Republic website. They do Royal Wings or did last time I looked. We have actually booked Royal Wings for next year through TC, mainly because their slides looked the best and it gets good reviews.
Thanks mehmeh, I'll have look at that website, I really quite fancy the Roayal Wings and very nearly booked there last year.
Denny
If it helps you can book the Royal Wings Hotel with OnTheBeach.com http://www.otbeach.com/index.html. We have also stayed at Lykia (twice) and the WOW Topkapi/Kremlin (great waterslides there!) as well as the Titanic in Hurghada, so I know what you mean. If you want to stay at a hotel with a large onsite AquaPark why not consider the Utopia World Hotel in Alanya? http://www.utopiaworld.com.tr/en/index.html You can book it through http://www.hotels4u.com as well as http://www.otbeach.com
have now booked barut lara for a cracking price compared to any other holiday for next year.they have apartments to also stay in and the kids ages go to 16 ,wheras the main hotel building is 14years old.plus great day flights to choose from.
Ermintrude - the Utopia looks good on its website and I fancy Alanya, but have you actually stayed there?
No mehmeh I haven't stayed at the Utopia but it's on my (long) shortlist along with the Delphin Palace, Royal Wings etc. I have stayed in Alanya but it was so long ago that my recommendation would be worthless now. There are a few reviews for the Utopia on Tripadvisor.
gatwick flights 7.55 am
going and returning about 14.30 ish.
july ,school holidays 2 adults ,14 yr old and 10 yr old was £3,700.
all other holidays were coming out at between £4,000-£5,500.
payed about that for delphin this year but would have returned but it was way too pricey as we needed two rooms(although we had that this year)
have breifly stayed at the royal wings too,all are great, hope barut is on par with delphin and we will be sorted.
our only problem weve got now is not many hotels with similar facilities are in our price range or have any decent reviews apart from lara resort hotels.
we keep saying where is there to go to keep the standards we are slowing becoming used to!!!!
I've taken a look at the Utopia website and it does look very good. I'll take a look at the booking sites but am a bit nervous of DIY having always booked a package. I have priced up Lykia DIY but it always works out dearer as if we book a package we usually end up getting two of the kids free by booking 2 seperate rooms and therefore paying for 4 adults. With DIY I have to pay 6 adult flights so this is why it's probably working out so much more expensive for us.
Incidently, the Topkapi Palace is coming up quite reasonable, what's your opinion of that please?
going eygpt in a few weeks and places like that are the best and cheapest way to go.but lara resort hotels have a tendency to over book and with no rep to help then i wouldnt risk it.
Dont let bthis put you off as they are fantastic hotels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
