Lots of small playgrounds on the seafront/beach all the way from Torremolinos to Benalmadena. Quite a few amusements including mini golf dotted along the main road in Torremolinos.

I don`t know if you`ve been to Paloma Park in Benalmadena, if you haven`t take your daughter there, she will love it, lots of rabbits, ducks for her to fed and a very nice bar at the far end for us adults with a playarea right next to it.

A new park that has opened recently is at Montemar Alto, (we got the train from Arroya) it is right at the side of the train station. Fantastic views, a great playgroud and a very reasonable priced boating lake.

I know the last 2 parks are not where you could just wander to whislt your wife is sunbathing but I think they are both worth a trip out.

Thanks Christine could be good idea to go from Torremolinos to Montemar Alto via the train. Do you know roughly how many stops it is. Have been thinking over ideas for things to do and have plenty for example Fuengirola Zoo, Malaga for the day, Tivoli and Selwo Marina.

Will be good to relax as well but with a two year old your always need things to occupy her.

Only one week to go and the nerves are now kicking in. When it was only me and my wife it was just excitement now with the wee one there is so much to prepare and look out for but will enjoy it more when we arrive at the Hotel Don Pablo.

Montemar Alto is the next stop west from Torremolinos. Stops are announced in English on approach to the station and scrolled visually over the doors.

Thanks Mick is that the stop towards Malaga or Fuengirola. Although I know that the train stations have a map so I can't go wrong.

You get on the train at Torremolinos (town centre) and you get the train going to Fuengirola, you get off at the next stop Montemar Alto.

Parque la Batería, as the name in Spanish suggests (battery as in Artillery) is a new purpose built park which contains several big cannons which were ceded by the navy to the army, a boating lake, a kiddies play area, a "look-out" tower and statues/fountains.

When you get off the train at Montemar Alto, you have to cross over the road and walk on the left hand side over the road bridge, and you will see the entrance to the park on your left hand side.

It's a nice park, it was nice and quiet when we visited and your little one will be able to run around without the fear of traffic"¦.it's worth a visit to pass a few hours away and it makes a change from the beach.

I did make a short video containing some of the photos that I took.(click on the link below)

Here are some photo's that I didn't include in the video.

This is the bridge (as viewed from the park)..the train station is just the other side of it.

I have also made a video of Paloma Park in Benalmadena, although it's looking a bit dated now, but the park hasn't changed, only maybe the animals....click on the link below.

A word of warning, chose where you visit, don't get on the train without buying your ticket first"¦it can cost you dearly, as much as ten times the normal fare.

Tuesday to Sunday : 11am to midnight
Monday from 5.30 pm to midnight

Steven if you do go to Fuengirola zoo call in at the park opposite, there`s a lovely little bar not too far from the playground. Don`t forget to see the Lemurs in the zoo, it is amazing you go into their enclosure and some of them jump on you.

Thanks Sanji for all the information, photo's etc thats a great help and has given us plenty to think about. The park looks like it would keep the wee one busy for ages.

Thanks Christine the zoo is definately in our plans and weather is looking good and a lot cooler than in July and August.

On the final countdown now and Torremolinos here we come.
