Can anyone please tell me where I can access seating plans for National Express East Coast Trains.

Many thanks

Basically
they are not available to the general public
IF you know what type of train you will be liable to travel on you can Wiki the seating plans but you need to be a little bit of a trainspotter to work out which direction the coaches travel in if you are looking for forward facing seats

You are looking for HST's and MK4 stock trains in the old GNER Flying Scotsman upgrades if I remember right but I live on the Midland line for St.P so don't get to see them every day

Thanks Gray,
Think I'll just have to leave it to fate.

IF you don't catch a rush hour train you should find seats available but the busy ones you could end up standing from York to London

If you book in advance at a station, the booking clerks can see the seating plans and they can then reserve you a particular type of seat or carriage. You won't always get the cheapest ticket this way because GNER offer a discount for bookings on the Net via their own website but it's worth losing the discount as far as I'm concerned in order to guarantee a seat in the 'Quiet' coach. It's a hell of al ong way from Dundee to Kings Cross to be stuck next to family all watching a DVD on Dad's laptop with the sound turned up!

Of course it's still not guaranteed - sometimes they can substitute the rolling stock at the last minute - but I've found that this is very rare.
