For a start Argos is in the southern Peloponnese so i will move your post to the other Greece page

the tourist season will have finished by the time you visit so the coastal sea side places will be quiet with the seasonal businesses shut down..

I would assume you are on some sort of Archaeological quest some links to the area can be found here

I would expect temps to be between 13 and 21 deg C although with climate change this cant be garenteed, also you may have a couple of days rain each week,

you have 3 months to learn a few words of Greek as not all the locals will speak english, and it's only polite to at least know how to greet , ask , and thank people [and tell them where you are from is also usefull]

Argos. Town about 10km inland from Navplion (whose old town is well worth a visit . . . ). Population around 25,000, main business is supporting agriculture. No tourists, so mainly Greek is spoken. The grape harvests will be over, olive harvests starting, and the population will be busy.

Weather will be 60% fine and sunny, with cool nights (8C - 12C usual lows) and moderately warm days (20C to 24C peaks). This fine weather will be broken up by the passage of depressions or weather fronts lasting 2 to 4 days when a lot of rain will fall over quite short periods. You will see some truly spectacular thunderstorms.

You'll need the same clothes you'd have for an English summer - capable of handling cool wet and windy weather on one hand, and ready for that fine, spring-like sunny day on the other.

Don't take travellers cheques - only banks take them and you'd spend hours queuing. Much better to take cash Euros, or use the local ATMs - they work fine, though charging about 1% to 2% per transaction. We live on less than €25 each per day for all meals and drink. Typical beer (half litre) €2. Typical lunch (omelette and salad) €7.

Country Greece is one of the safest places in the world for strangers. People don't lock their doors or cars, parcels are left in heaps for the owners to come and collect them outside bus stations . . . the levels of trust around small towns is very high.

HI..thanks for reply wizard..Im going as spectator to world kick boxing championships...but have 4 days during visit to occupy myself...not really interested in the ruins ect as seen it all on tv...more interested in local culture and love meeting the locals...usually go spain where though I speak only a few words of spanish I feel easy off wandering alone , walking or on public transport to the early morning markets or shops. Though I understand very little I like to listen to the banter of the locals. I usually go self catering as enjoy shopping for and trying local fayre, and eating out . As half board will need to try something new in Greece.

You'll probably find that Argos is a very scruffy place compared to Pallafrgell!

Wednesday is a market day in Argos. If you want to mingle that will be a good place. There are quite a few cafe's and taverna's where you can while away a few hours.

Not sure what it is like in November but during the summer there are a lot of women and children begging. They usually go away if you ignore them.

A bus ride to Nafplion costs about 1 euro and takes about 20 mins. Nafplion is well worth a visit, again time can be passed sat in a cafe in the square or by the harbour.

Even though you say you have seen the ruins on tv there is nothing like seeing the sights for yourself, at the very least you can't miss a visit to the Palamidi in Nafplion. You can climb the 999 steps to the top or get a taxi. It took us several visits to explore the whole site and the views from the top are spectacular.

Whatever you decide I hope that you have a great time.
