I am off to Bitez next month and was watching a flight that was going up and down like a yoyo and I decided I would wait till we got back from holiday (we were in Bitez earlier on in the month) to book it. Biiiiiig mistake. XL went bust when we were away and prices neally doubled!!!
We would have left it till later on in the year to go... but I am taking my neighbour with us (her only child is in a wheelchair) and she is sooooo looking forward to it.
Horrified at the price increases I finally saw one last Friday for £252 pp so in haste I grabbed my card and booked it (still expensive but a lot cheaper than others)
About an hour later I checked it again and found I had booked for October 2009!!!!! I had hit the wrong year key (and my daughter had also checked details) Phoned Fly Deals right away it was a Tommy Cook flight and they told me to ring the next day. I was livid with myself for making such a STUPID MISTAKE. I was told that it was a common mistake and a lot of people do it so please double check and don't be stupid like me.
I was told that they might not be able to amend it... but after a couple of phone calls they said that Tommy Cook would charge me £82 for admin fees and put the rest back in my account next Friday...phew it was better than losing £756.
This is where I say a great BIG thank you to "Haymen74" I was looking at her links this morning and found on Icelolly.com a fantastic deal. A package for £214 pp we will not need the accommodation but it worked out cheaper than flight only and it is the same flight as we had booked... but a day later.
Also with it being £114 cheaper it has paid me the £82 I lost and still worked out cheaper.
Haymen74 you have made three people very happy bunnies today
and if ever you find yourself in Bitez I will treat you to a cocktail or two.
