We are in Turkey at present, weather been beautiful, a few thunder storms at night gone a bit dull today, going to rain.
Every thing closed 28th Oct,except for general shops

Oh yes still night life, i think Oct the best time of year to holiday in Turkey, today another beautiful morning, warm enough to go to the beach or lay by the pool, we are starting to need cardi at night, chills around 6 then goes back up again for some reason?
The other advantage its not to busy/hot, you can stroll around the markets/shops at leasuire.
We love this time of year.

Hi,
Just arrived back today. We have been visiting this area for many years and loved it so much we ended up buying a place 2 years ago in Fethiye.
We prefer this location as we can travel to Olu Deniz and Hisaronu in one direction and Fethiye centre and Calis area in the other.
As October progresses Olu and Hisaronu start closing down certainly more noticeable in Hisaronu as it was fairly quiet at night.Still spent a day on Olu beach and loved it as weather was still reasonably hot.
Reason I am posting is that there are a couple of lovely hotels in Karagozler,Fethiye overlooking the bay.We stayed at Yacht Plaza 3 years ago in October and the views over the bay from the rooms are absolutely stunning. You will have breakfast on the decked area at the rear by the side of the sea with the yachts lined up on the jetty. There are 3 lovely little beaches round the headland.5minutes on dolmus.
Walk into Fethiye centre with its vast choice of restraunts and lokantas and shops, especially in the old part of town.Stroll the harbour, visit museum and culture centre, catch the, water taxi to Calis or grab the bus to Olu Deniz and spend some time there.
Personal opinion obviously but for October you can have the best of everything by staying there.
Yacht Plaza Fethiye has its own website and you can book through the hotel and book your flights seperate.
Hope you have a great time whatever you decide.
Regards Dave

Hi, just got back fron OD, one week stay at the Karbel, as usual superb.
We usually go in May / June, 1st time in October, weather was fantastic, although we heard this week was much better than normal. Lots of wasps around, not any in May / June. 99% of the bars / shops were still open until end of Oct, also when this Hotel closes. Numbers of guests were down compared to our stay in May, so bars etc were a little more anxious for you to visit their bar etc. Prices still very resonable compared to UK. We would return in Oct in the future, but first will for 2 weeks in May / June, according to school holidays etc.
