I hope I can be as informative as i can with this so you can have a good view of the hotel(Fantastic!).
We came back about 3 week ago now. Enjoyed everyday and we all want to go back.
We flew out (for a wedding) with First Choice as one of our wedding party works for them so got us a very good deal there. Once we arrived a dalaman airport there where the coaches waiting for us. We hopped on board and off we trotted dropping various people off at various hotels. (Until one group got off at the wrong hotel and forgot to take their luggage)
Arriving at the hotel was when our only problem arrised. It was early hours in the morning and we went to reception to get our keys. Ishmael was wonderful and very polite. But he sometimes had trouble understanding which rooms each of us where in (We had a weird configuration like a 3+2 room and a 2+1. Even confused me)
We got to our rooms to find that the room we had been put it was bot big enough to sleep all of what was put in here. And was damp so that attracted the mosqitoues. But we slept in it.(Not that I actually did sleep. Hearing a mossy buzz round my each every 2 minutes)
We went down to the reception when we arose from our slumber. For Ishmael to be there AGAIN!:D (He doesnt sleep i dont think). He sorted out our rooms. And we were placed in better rooms than where actually already booked.
The whole holiday didnt have any more problems after that.
The staff at the hotel where AMAZING. If you think someone is very friendly but not intrusive. They aint a patch on the staff we met.
Mehmet was the manager of the resteraunt at Sun City. We gained a good friendship with him. For our wedding party he arranged for a special table to be setup and also came down to the wedding. (The wedding was down on the Blue Lagoon.) Mehmet's best friend also called Mehmet was the manager at the Blue Lagoon.
Mehmet always came and spoke to us whenever he saw us. And we missed him the moment we walked out of the gates to the hotel.
There is also Patrick who was behind the main bar. On the pool.
He was very good and very skilled at his job. There are a few other barmen that smashed a few glasses trying to do some tricks.
When we came back from the wedding. Patrick made the bride a special cocktail (Even though it was out of cocktail hour) and made a heart out of a fruit and wrote the Bride and Groom initials on top of the cocktail using food colouring.
There was also Harun who was serving ice cream during the day. Though he barely spoke english and said mostly the same thing over and over and over again. He was very nice. A very nice guy to get a long with. We had fun.(He even pushed us in the pool.....)
We have looked at the comments book. And we cant understand where most are coming from. They complain about the food. But the food was brilliant. We had alssorts of ages in our party and not a single complaint from anyone.
The childrens ages ranged from 8-16. Catering for that sort of age differnce can be hard.
During the day Burgers,Chips,Pizza,Hot Dogs are aviable from the Snack bar. And there is also a woman making fresh pancakes in the other corner.
The main resteraunt had masses upon masses of food. Some of the food changed throughout the week. But it was all made to a brilliant standard. Some of the food was being prepared right in front of you.
The breakfasts where the same. There was Pancakes,Cerial,Fried Food all was delicious.
(Word of warning though. Dont get too drunk that you only wake up at 10:00. You will only get te scraps from breakfast. Wont be much left)
The shops are only a 2minute walk from the hotel gates. Selling everything from glass figurines made infront of you. To "Knock off Nigel" handbags and T-Shirts. (Try genuine fake factory. We found them cheapest. Also look out for the masses of viagra. And the amount of british name dropping 'Azda', 'Sainsbury', 'Bridget Home Stores(BHS)')
There is also some more shops further down the road next to the beech. Called 'Gengis Khan' we found him to be more expensive and harder to barter with. Also he got quite aggressive when we argued that his prices where too high(Which they where).
If you are down by the beech. Watch out for paragliders. Theyll land on your head. The landing zone is a big circle in the middle of the walkway. For which a few strayed off course. And landed on top of various people (Me included)
Any questions feel free to post them and I will try to answer them for you.
[EDIT: 1]
You dont really need to wear the wrist bands they give you though. Only one of our wedding party was checked by security. And we were never checked whilst in the complex
The majority complained about the food and some even complained about staff.
As i have outline dup ^^ the staff are amazing. Even the maids when they come to clean your room. Will fold any clothes that may be on the floor (2 Boys in one room. It will happen) and place them neatly on the bed.
They also make designs from the towels and sheets
Fantastic report and great to hear everyone enjoyed themselves. Confirming for the millionth time you can't beat the welcome you get from the Turkish people.
Glad to hear you had a great holiday. When you have the time would you copy your report over to our hotel review site here
