Really lovely programme , tonight's episode made me weep over those lovely kids in Calcutta, they are just so lovely and they have nothing. Don't suppose anybody knows the song they were dancing to, something like ' Chatterjee' :que :que

Yes brilliant programme tonight but yes sad, certainly does make you think, how very lucky many of us are and still we grumble about this and that!! it just puts things into perspective somewhat doesn't it ... certainly made me feel how I should appreciate things more!! :think

Another brilliant episode!

Rock City and the cool dude Indians in leather jackets and heavy"ish" rock music...didnt quite look right! :rofl

The children of the prostitutes brought a tear to my eye! What a life for a child. I know, I know, there are thousands like the ones we saw last night but it is driven home when you see it on the telly. I just wish I could change the world.

Seeing the children of the prostitutes, brought to life a book I have just read, Aids Sutra, and part of it deals with the children. I bought it because the proceeds go to helping children affected by Aids. It's on the book thread.

For anyone that is interested in Calcutta charity projects check out this

website.http://www.ciniuk.org/projectreports.htm

One of the projects is working with children in the red light district. We visited their centre for mother and child development a couple of years ago and can testify that no money raised goes to waste.

We learnt of the charity through Mark Tulley the ex BBC correspondent who I belive has donated towards the cause.

I know lots of you donate to Children walking tall etc but if you have any spare cash Cini is a very worthy charity

I thoroughly enjoyed this series, it certainly showed different aspects of life in India, a truly diverse country.

I especially liked the laughing exercises being carried out on the beach, and the claim by the one guy that his hair had grown thicker because of it!

That's a shame Chilly, it was good I think that India slowly got under Paul's skin like the rest of us. It would be interesting to hear his thoughts now after his travels are over. Perhaps the Mods could invite him to a live chat in our chat rooms?!

that would be nice miccie.... :) is it possiable at all mods?
