How about 10 day hols?

This is what I have done since my son was born and ive travelled alone with him now since he was 2. This year was the first year that we went away for 2 weeks cos we done DIY and had such a bargain, but I have often found that the 10 days hols are just as cheap (and have gotten them cheaper) than one week holidays compared to two weeks there is often some difference altho not great, but I have always felt that 2 weeks is too long and Id rather have 2 holidays of maybe 10 days than one holiday of 2 weeks . . . but for me the timing is perfect I think as 2 weeks can be too long, but a week not enough. Hitting it in the middle is perfect

I have gone long haul for a week. There are places I would never have managed to visit if I had only waited till we could get two weeks off together. We don't have children though so its easier for us. ( Even been for long haul for less than a week- the Goa members remember that one . It wasnt planned as 5 days by the way)
I've also in the past been on 3 week holidays to Greece. I have a feeling I would get bored nowadays in one place for that long.

We do a week if staying in the UK, as that tends to be half term holidays but 2 if going abroad. In part it's the cost as 2 weeks never costs double that of a week as the most expensive bit seems to be the flights. Also by the time we get to August we are all so tired, it takes a good few days to unwind and we wouldn't really be ready to come home after 7 days. I do think 11 is about right but if we can do 14 for about the same money we might as well.
