Hi,im going to goa in jan and was wondering if anyone knows if theres any fishing tackle shops in and around goa, also does anyone know of any good spots to fish,or fishing trips thank you???

Don't know about tackle shops.
If you have your own gear - pop down to the jetty on the Nerul river, just past Sweet Chilli. You and a couple of mates can rent a boat and be taken out into the Mandovi estuary and round the cape, past the prison for some good fishing.
You might even see a few dolphins. :tup
If you don't have your own gear - there are lots of places offering fishing trips.

Hi,
There is a fishhing tackle shop in Panjim,if you face the big white church it is 50 yards to the left (fitness centre with weights, bikes that go nowhere and treadmills in the window, just what you want for your holiday!!!) :tongue jantie

Big coincidence!
This question was answered to me from my friend Domnic with which I do some fishing in Goa just some weeks ago.
There is one in Mapusa, called White Surf and one in Panjim called Champs.

Leaving on wednesday, tight lines!

Hi Prouts,

I think you will find it is almost as cheap to buy at home the tackle you will need, I take a £20.00 collapsable beach caster, hooks a few weights and bits n pieces, never catch a geat deal but still enjoy it, once caught a 2lb sea bream at the Sal estuary "honest"
You can get a protctive tube for your rod from most tackle shops and then it can go with your luggage.

Good luck

Take some dexter wedges and try a bit of spinning, also attach a 50lb trace as some of the fish will bite right through the line :tup

Hi Goandude,

Whereabouts in Betul do you fish, we often have a ride out to that area?
Hells teeth feelthevibe I thought my 2lb sea bass was a good catch but what bites through a 50lb trace?
Beware all you swimmers you never know what lurks below you.

not been to goa for nearly 2 years now but an english guy (chris i think)started up a fishing business while i was there he was taking people night fishing on the beach and out in boats but he also had the rights to fish a lake at a hotel that was full of sea fish with some huge specimens he was using carp gear which was'nt really the best quality and was'nt upto the task but if hes upgraded his gear its well worth a go especially if anyone wants to take there wives who can sunbathe in nice gardens on sunloungers at the side of the lake while dropping a few cold drinks :tongue
i'll see if i can find his number if anyones interested he was based in calangute straight over at the roundabout where the beach rd is
