we've just booked a place in san miguel for a week in Jan (first time in tenerife) - anyone know what san miguel's like? - is it where the beer comes from?

It is a quiet village inland above Golf del Sur. I suspect you will need a car. Very Spanish
No the beer does not come from San Miguel Tenerife,or the many other places called San Miguel all over Spain, its just a brand name.
I prefer Cruzcampo anyway.
